Blodgett canyon F.S. campground: Camping Blodgett canyon

This campground is 5.5 miles from my house. I have recommended it to people but never stayed there before last night. We own a VW westfalia and do not use it nearly enough. Not having the time or wanting to spend the gas money to go camping far away we decided to check out our own back yard. It was one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever stayed in. The typical Forest service outhouse/bathroom was meticulously clean and even though all 6 (count them 6) spaces were full, the camp host let us stay in the day use area. The cost of this adventure? FREE. We met some awesome people traveling and had a good 3 hour hike in the canyon which is beautiful.

You will not find prettier views from a campsite anywhere.
Free is a good price.
Close to town yet very secluded.
