Although a little more expensive than most hotels, it is defineately worth it. Not only do you get a comfortable nights stay but a small breakfast in the morning, indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub.
The stairs are so pretty when you first walk in the door
Sometimes looks are deceiving. From the street the La Quinta in Helena looks old and tired and is located in a run down area adjacent to the freeway. Walking inside not a lot changes that impression.. The front desk person was on a personal phone call and I waited patiently while he finished. We booked the room using La Quinta points back home.
Since there was a dog show in Helena there were a large number of dogs with their owners in the hotel. A plus was that the hotel definitely seemed to do a good job catering to owners of pets. Some really cute and intelligent dogs were staying there.
The room on the second floor however was clean and comfortable. Two queen size beds, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. A small but very clean bathroom with a shower with good water pressure.
For an older hotel the La Quinta had a great fitness center in the basement. Equipment that worked with weights and plenty of space to stretch out.
The breakfast while a typical La Quinta affair of cereals, breads, and eggs was made much better by a very helpful; and friendly staff person. She went out of her way to see that every guest could find what they needed with a big smile.
