A Beautiful Town
"Mountain Town, Cowboy Town, Art Town..."
Livingston, Montana...it's much smaller than its neighbor Bozeman and a very different place from my limited point of view. I first visited extended family here in 2004 and have returned on occasion for shopping or on the way somewhere.
My favorite? To stroll through the downtown window shopping and stopping at the different galleries. There are also art walks in the spring and summer - I've not made one but heard they're certainly worth the trip!
"On the way..."
Many of the times I've visited Livingston have been on the way to Yellowstone National Park or to a destination in the Paradise Valley - both are south of the town.
But, it's worth a stop and a walk through the downtown for the art galleries and restaurants there before heading on to another destination.
"Caught in Time"
There are parts of Livingston's downtown that are caught in the past. That's also what draws people here to stay. They like the quiet atmosphere and the laid back nature of the community. Having grown up in a bit of artists' community in Michigan, I really enjoy the atmosphere of a town like this!
