Solid value - close to airport
Spent two nights here, our first night in Montana and then two weeks later our last night.
It was a good choice for us as it is very close to the airport and we were getting in late and leaving early on our last day. The other reason we picked it was the pool and water slides to give the grandson something fun to day. Good sized room and pleasant staff.
Biggest draw back is it is a long ways from city center and the University. Turned in the rental car after checking in because our flight was so early in the morning. which wasn't too smart as there are no places to get dinner close by. Had to take a cab but ended up at really nice restaurant (Stone of Accord).
Room was clean but carpets were stained. All the usual ammenities plus a free breakfast.
Unique Quality: While the pool and water slides are fairly small, one of the slides was great fun and the grandson and I had a blast. It was a fully enclosed dark tunnel that was very fast.

Missoula's WORST Hotel award goes to the Wingate!!
What ever you do... DO NOT BOOK A BIRTHDAY PARTY AT THE WINGATE!!! First of all, the staff is too lazy to direct your party to the pool area. We were told to stand out front and greet our guests. Then, they double booked us with a group of mentally challenged adults. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the disabled, but common sense tells you not to book a party like that with a children's party. When the adults came down the water slides they would almost hit the kids, and they didn't bother to follow the lights which tell you when you can go down the slides, so several times the kids got mowed over by the adults who came down right after the kids. The whirl pool was so full of pee that the water was cloudy and reeked of urine and the kids hadn't even been in it yet. One woman took my niece's hand and tried to walk off with her 3 different times. The worst part is when we complained to the hotel, we were told, "well, it's not our problem, we don't ask who will be at the parties, besides maybe your kids will learn something from the experience." I was absolutely appalled!!! The place was filthy, the staff was rude and inconsiderate and it was definitely not worth the price. Even McDonald's is a better option than the hell the Wingate put us through!
