More about The Pollard

Cute place and yummy stuff

by melissa_bel about City Bakery

I was looking for a bakery the first time we got there and this tiny place (and the delicious) just got my eye (and my nose).
City Bakery is small indeed (no restroom, you'll have to run at the Pollard Hotel, it;'s not far but the pastries are delicious! Cookies, Italian specialties (almond and chocolate dipped crescents, biscottis for instance), macaroon, bread sticks...! The owner is as sweet as pie and really talkative. She travelled a lot through Europe to learn new recipes and cooking techniques and if you start talking with her, you might end up staying there for a while. The tuscan roast coffee is not bad either!
On Saturday, the bakery makes ciabattas, a special crusty italian bread, so make sure to drop by and try it. I really liked the macaroons, they're delicious. Justin's favourite is the pecan roll. It's HUGE and rich.

Travel Tips for Red Lodge

Rock Creek Vista Point Rest Area

by moosie1808

"Be -yu-tee-ful Views"

The Vista Point Rest Area is a must stop for great views of Rock Creek Valley. There is a short paved trail out on a ridge to an observation area. The rest area is well maintained and developed with sturdy rock walls to keep you from being drawn to the edge and becoming an ugly statistic.

"Wyoming Creek"

This creek flows down the eastern side of the scenic overlook. It is a long way down but you can still hear the rushing of the water.

"The Observation Point"

A couple of shady characters.

"Another view of Rock Creek Valley"

"Line Creek Plateau"

The Line Creak Plateau begins on the other side of Wyoming Creek.

"Chipmunk waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting"

"A captivating view of the rest area parking lot"
