More about Good Medicine Lodge
Good Medicine at the Good Medicine Lodge
My wife and I spent a three day weekend at the Good Medicine Lodge and enjoyed every minute we spent there.
We found the Lodge to be welcoming, spotlessly clean and wonderfully decorated in a Western Montana motif. Comfortable rooms, good beds and a great breakfast all found in a wonderful location.
The owners have obviously spent a great deal of time and effort in fine tuning their property. Guests of the Good Medicine Lodge will surely be left with the distinct impression that carefull attention has been made to every detail to help ensure their comfort and enjoyment. The Lodge is spacious enough to find a quiet spot to read, curl up by a fireplace and nap or even have an intimate conversation. However, we found sharing travel experiences and pleasantries with the other guests at breakfast or after a day of exploring was for us part of the Good Medicine experience. Highly recommended!
Another Terrific Stay at Good Medicine Lodge
Thank you Woody & Betsy for another wonderful stay at Good Medicine Lodge. We stayed for 3 nights in July 2006, and again for 5 nights in December/January. The property is beautiful, and the hosts, Woody & Betsy, are so pleasant and accomodating. Our 3 children love it there too, and didn't want to leave. The breakfasts are always excellent. Looking forward to our next stay at Good Medicine !
We've stayed at Alpinglow on...
We've stayed at Alpinglow on Big Mountain and Good Medicine Lodge B&B there on Wisconsin. We've also stayed at Paola B&B in Essex
The Good Medicine Lodge is warm and welcoming and a great place to stay in Whitefish. The rooms are large and quiet and the property is extremely well kept and clean. The amenities are top of the line, from the Neutrogena soaps to the big-screen tv room and the hot tub. Owners Woody and Betsy make you feel at home and are a wealth of information on the area. The breakfasts are hearty and delicious. In the afternoon they serve a complimentary glass of wine or beer and appetizers. The homemade cookies make a wonderful snack. This was our second stay at the Good Medicine Lodge, and we will certainly return.
- Great location, just minutes from downtown Whitefish.
- Excellent restaurants within walking distance or downtown.
- Beautiful views of the mountains.
- Many rooms with an outdoor deck.
- Well-landscaped courtyard.
Woody and Betsy are the Best!
Our stay at Good Medicine Lodge was absolutely perfect. From the moment you step inside, you are treated with utmost care by owners Woody and Betsy. They love what they do and they do it well! Breakfast is a fancy feast, homemade, and tasty. They serve amazing appetizers and wine in the afternoon. Plus, there is always a jar of homemade cookies (yum!) sitting out for you as well as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.
The rooms are super clean, the property is quiet and gorgeous with a spa and gardens. Plus, there is email available, a front sitting room, and a fun little "theatre" where you can bring their blankets and watch DVDs.
It's 1/2 mile from town, so we walked to dinner everynight and it's close to Big Mountain.
We just loved the touches they put into their B & B--they had everything for us from bandaids to a backpack to bear spray (which we didn't need!). We will be back for sure!
Can't say enough....attention to details
My husband and I took a train to Whitefish, Montana in June 2006 and were sort of reluctant to stay in a bed and breakfast but boy did Good Medicine Lodge surprise us! We stayed in the King Suite for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The bed was oooohhhh so comfortable (bigger than a normal king), the gas fireplace was romantic, the hot tub was great after a long day at Glacier Park, the shower (oh my....I have to get one of these), super clean, and the owner was very very attentive. The breakfasts were the best in the world, the deck outside of our room was nice and cozy, the hot tub downstairs was great, the TV room made you feel right at home, and there was a computer for anyone to use to check on flights, e-mails, etc. Did I mention the cookies? Yum!
I only wish there were more B&B's like this one. We're looking forward to going back in 2008. We will definitely stay here again!
Oh yeah, the town of Whitefish has some truely wonderful friendly people in it. And, Whitefish is close to everything! What more can I say?
A Relaxing Retreat!
Our stay at Good Medicine Lodge was a real treat. Woody & Betsy made us feel like one of the family and provided a warm and welcoming place to stay. The lodge built of cedar timbers is tastefully decorated without being pretentious. The rooms, decorated in a western style with Native American influences, are adequate size, spotless, and quiet. The guest laundry and outdoor spa tub were nice “extras”. The homemade breakfasts (including a different egg dish each day and a selection of yogurt, breads, muffins, cereals, and pastries) were delicious. The complimentary glass of wine and hors d’œuvres each evening was a nice touch. Woody & Betsy go out of their way to try and ensure quests enjoy their stay in the area. They shared their suggestions for hiking, sightseeing, and dining. They even loaned us binoculars, knife, cooler, and bear spray for a hike/picnic. It's obvious that they love what they do. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created a much-needed relaxing vacation for us. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it highly to others looking for a relaxing retreat. Absolutely outstanding. Our experience started with the initial phone call for the reservation, and ended with Green Eggs and Ham! The room was clean, neat as a pin and felt very homey. The bed was very comfortable, a 6 head shower I wanted to take home with us. Woody couldn't do enough to make our stay more welcoming. Our Host filled us in on all of the surrounding sites and places to go. Baked Pear, and Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast that was delicious. As weary travelers, it was truly a wonderful experience. Thanks Woody!!!
We stayed here on our last night of a 2 week trip in July 2006. The rooms were clean, hosts were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were very good. One of our rooms had a tiny balcony shared with another guest room. The view from this room was the back yard and the back of a business next door. The location had its pros and cons ... close enough to local attractions (Big Mountain, quaint downtown, etc.), but it was on a highway. I would have preferred it to be more secluded or off the beaten path. All in all, this was a nice place to stay. If I was ever in the whitefish area again, I would not hesitate to stay here.
Good Medicine is by far the best B&B/lodge I have ever stayed in. The rooms are a good size, very comfortable & well-decorated. The breakfasts are fabulous - much better than any five star hotel! The whole property is very appealing, nicely laid out & welcoming. The hot tub is a definite bonus - as are the free glass of wine and appetizers in the evening. It is a little outside the centre of Whitefish, but is directly across the road from McGarry's which is an excellent restaurant if you don't feel like driving into town for dinner. You get a feeling that Good Medicine is a labour of love for the owners, and this comes across in every detail of the place.
