THE REGENCY COURT SHOPPING MALL

by Rich62

THE REASON I SAY THIS IS "OFF THE BEATEN PATH" is that this is a smaller, upscale mall that is sort of hidden away and not known by many tourists who are in town. In fact, the giant Westroads Mall is just across Dodge Street from Regency, and Westroads is where you will find most visitors.

Just south of Westroads Mall on Dodge Street is a "Regency" exit. Take it to the south and you will quickly see the Regency Mall on your right.

I don't remember all the stores in the Regency except there is a Williams Sonoma. And, best of all, there is a "Scooters" cappaccino store right in the middle of the lobby. (Scooters makes the smoothest Hazelnut Lattes we have ever tasted.)

Cowboy Vacation?

by capeman692

Hi, We are from N.Y. and looking for a true western vacation. I found this one where they offer trailrides, roping, bull riding, bronco riding etc, its in Nebraska. Has anyone been there it looks great. www.milesranch.com Thanks

Is Nebraska considered the "west"????? Sounds very flat and dull. Surely there are things in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.....????? Good Luck!

Sure there is further western states but wasn't Wild Bill shot in South Dakota and isn't Jessy James buried in St. Joe Missouri? That is why we want to go to that part of the country and we could also visit those places.

Does THIS look flat and boring?

http://www.eomaha.com/gallery/nebraska

Unfortunately, most people are only familiar with the parts of Nebraska which I-80 runs along (think about it... what is the best terrain to build an interstate on?? Flat, featureless land... running along the Platte River).

Truth be known... Nebraska has among the most diverse landscapes around.

Lake Zorinsky- Omaha has a decent amount of paved/gravel hiking/biking/walking trails. This one can be either 2 or 7 miles long depending on your mood. The scenery and the lake is a nice change for Omaha.

Uncle Ernie's Riverside Inn

by shock32638 about Uncle Ernie's Riverside Inn

It's a little shack on the bank of the Platte river, it looks like someplace you'd never go to unless you were forced, but the entire interior of the returaunt is decorated with awards from every bbq competition within 500 miles, whatever you order it will be done right, and taste terrific. Ribs

VISIT UNO

by Rich62

IF, LIKE US, YOU ENJOY VISITING COLLEGE CAMPUSES, you would enjoy seeing the beautiful campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, or "UNO".

WE HAVE BEEN to basketball games in the UNO fieldhouse. While it is comfortable, it is like a huge dark barn with a basketball floor put down in the middle. Not the most attractive facility to play in.

GO DOWNTOWN

by Rich62

ITS A SMALL CITY but interesting, you can explore the downtown area.

These photos show the Mutual of Omaha building. If you are old enough, you will remember the "Wild Kingdom" TV show starring Marlin Perkins and sponsored by Mutual of Omaha. And, believe it or not, Mutual of Omaha really is in Omaha!
