In spanish the Blue House translates into Casa Azul.. and just guess where is the most famous of all blue houses? of course, the one that belonged to Frida Kahlo. I was not aware of the similarities and for the humble house in Walthill, it is a great honour indeed. Today's picture shows the Blue House Walthill amidst the melting snow and the temperature of minus 2 C despite a strong sun and no wind making the temperature feel much more than -2C
Mi Hu Sa, an UmonHon Indian, currently doing her MFA in SFrancisco, had time to redo this house in Walthill. She painted the house in various colours, rearranged the books and the furniture and you would not believe this is in the middle of nowhere..
Very comfortable and welcoming house.
If you ever manage to get this far, i will make sure that you are accomodated free of charge! you would live in this small town the majority of the inhabitants are omaha indians.
A large house, with many bed rooms and plenty of reading materials on the indians . lots and lots of music CDs from all over the place and a large collection of art movies from around the world in DVD format. Unfortunately the TV is not connected! but you can watch dvd or vcd connected to it.
