Good Food; Gamble While You Wait

The Prospector is a combination hotel, casino and restaurant. Reportedly the rooms are very nice; but I cannot say firsthand I just ate dinner here and fed a few dollars worth of quarters into the slot machines. The casino was bright, noisy, and festive. The dining area was darker, quieter and relaxing, with a very comfortable booth. Just what I needed after a long day driving and hiking at Great Basin National Park. Service was slow; but they looked pretty crowded so maybe they were overwhelmed and are normally quicker. The food was very good. I would eat here again. Price was reasonable too. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day (I think it was green beans). All of it was tasty and well presented.

"Ely, Nevada"
Ely is the largest city in, and the county seat of, White Pine County. It has a number of motels/hotels ranging from squalid dumps to nice resort style places. Same can be said of the restaurants. Ely has something going on 24/7.
"Museums"
There are a few different museums to visit in Ely including the Northern Nevada Railroad Museum.
"Great Basin National Park"
Ely is also the closest decent sized town to Great Basin National Park.
