The Hilton Las Vegas is located right off the Strip. If you travel north on the strip, before you reach the Stratosphere, you will turn right and it can be easily seen due to its dimensions. The Hilton is classy, friendly and has a touch of elegance all over it. It's a regular hotel, by regular I mean it is not a themed hotel. The parking lot is pretty big and there is no problem finding a spot. The entrance is similar to all the hotels in Vegas: the first thing you see is the casino. One thing that I must say is :get a car. See, me and my wife thought, by looking at the maps we had, it would have been a very short trip on foot from the Hilton to the strip. The first day we almost died. Streets are bigger than they seem on a map, especially when the temperature is over 100 degrees (fahrenheit). Howevr, you can use the trolleys that stroll back and forth the strip and they also stop at the Hilton. But sometimes it might be tough to wait under the sun and they are pretty hot inside when crowdy (always). After 2 days we decided to rent a car. Anyway the Hilton is off the strip but not too far from it. The casino inside is big and well kept. Well arranged too, with a pretty sparkling life at night. Although I planned to go to a different casino every night (7 nights), I spent a couple of nights at the Hilton casino and actually found it to be one of the best. What we both really liked is that the rooms are spacious. Note that we went into a regualr standard room, nothing fancy. But it was wide, full of space, comfortable. Inside the Hilton offers some restaurants that we did not try as we were almost always somewhere else. However I have to mention Margaritaville Cafe'. Nice happy hours with huge bowls of Margaritas and complimentary nachos.
The pool is not as huge as some of the hotel pools in the strip. But we live in Florida, so the pool was the last of our targets. Anyway, the pool service is very good; the only thing is that the pool can get pretty crowdy and sometimes there might not be enough room for you to swim in the water. If it happens, don't get aggravated and do as I did: lay down on the deck chair, enjoy a cocktail and study your blackjack strategy... Oh, inside the hotel there is the attraction: Star Trek: the experience. Funny experience. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 3000 S. | | | | Circus Circus Hotel & Casino: Great Value, Big rooms, Great food! Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
We enjoyed staying at Circus Circus. Although its one of the cheaper hotels on the strip and further up than the central hotels, we loved it. The room we had was huge , with air conditioning and a great view of Las Vegas. I couldn't beleive how big this hotel was! It had several restaurants, shops, a big theme park (Adventuredome) and 3 swimming pools. At weekends it was busier with children everywhere but that didnt bother us as the place is so huge anyway. We liked the section called Midway (we're big kids really) which is full of amusent arcades and games. My partner won me so many teddies we had to buy another suitcase to brig them home!
The pools were lovely. There were always plenty of sunloungers for everyone and it was just a nice atmosphere there. We particularly liked trying out all the restaurants in the hotel. Here is our ratings on them: Blue Iguana- Fantastic Mexican. They do great chicken fajitas and the portions are huge! Nice setting and decor, tortillas and dips complimentary which is a bonus! Pink Pony -very american! A typical american midde range place to eat. We loved it-you can play keno whilst you eat, again portions are huge, anf they do the best bacon cheeseburger we have ever tasted. Stivalis- Italian Restuarant. A intimate classy place (more for couples) which does lovely home made ravioli. IF you have the calamari starter, be warned, the portion is so huge , you'll struggle with you main meal! Circus Circus Buffet-before we went , on internet we had read some bad reviews that the buffet was bland but we have to say it was great, varied food and lots of it! The place has been refurbished and was very clean and tidy. The food was tasty and they did lovely carrot cake! There is also a steak house but we never got round to trying it (although its been rated the best Las Vegas steak house for many years running apparently) and a pizzeria . You won't go hungry in this hotel! The casinos are great here too because there are plenty of cheap slot machines for us beginners so we dont have to gamble a lot of our dollars away! There are also plenty of shops to buy gifts, souvenirs and food and the them park is pretty amazing too! | | | | Flamingo Las Vegas: Low season crowdsPool is only for Very Early Birds Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Our plan was have a low cost, fun trip to a place we'd never been before. We figured that mid week, low season in Las Vegas might be fun. We chose the Flamingo because the price and location were right, and because it was listed as having one of the 10 best pools in Vegas. While we did have a good time, at relatively low cost, we made a few discoveries that would have been helpful to know beforehand. First—low season is a relative term there! I have never seen such crowds anywhere. We were amazed every time we walked through the lobby of the Flamingo, noon or midnight or 2 am, that there were constant lines at the registration desk. Well, you only register once, but these lines evolved into lines everywhere else—the snack bar, taxi lines, etc. The room was plenty big for 2 moms and 2 teens. Housekeeping and room condition were excellent. We asked for and got an even-numbered room on the 19th floor in the tower that overlooks the Bellagio fountains and the Strip.. Odd numbered rooms overlook the pool.
Excellent location, Size of the room was ample for 2 moms and 2 teenage girls. We took advice from this and other sites, and asked for a room in the tower overlooking the Bellagio Fountains, and enjoyed the dancing waters every half hour or so from our 19th floor room. Our plan was to sit by the pool for several hours each day, and eat/explore/go to afternoon shows during the middle of the day, take a late afternoon nap, and then go out for more eating/exploring and shows. We went out to the pool the first day, at about 10 am. It was a sea of people—chaises pushed together so tightly; you couldn’t get a piece of paper between them. Every single chaise and postage stamp of bare concrete was occupied. I asked one of the towel attendants what time you needed to get there to get a chaise. She said that the pool opens at 8 am, that the workers arrive at 7, and that there is a long line of people lined up when they arrive. I asked when the crowds thin out; she said it gets a little less crowded after 3 pm. Okay, we thought, we’ll just flip the morning swim and afternoon “explore” times. We went down to the pool at 3:30 (grownups only, the kids wanted to sleep/watch TV). Yes, we found two chaises, but the daily ”pool party” made the pool a pretty raucous place to sit. Scratch the pool part of our trip (probably the part I was most looking forward to, coming from cool, rainy Boston. | | | | Hard Rock Hotel And Casino: Rock And Roll Lullaby Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I love the HRH and would definitely stay here again. It is located off the strip, so you will need a car if you want to explore,or depend on taxi's (which could get expensive). The hotel lobby is filled with music and rock memorabilia. The rooms are good size, have leather headboards, french doors, and continue on the rock theme. The casino is definitely smaller and more intimate that many of the hotels on the strip, and nights can be packed! Rock music plays continually in the common areas and can be loud. Watch out for celebrities...you never know who you might pass here.
The pool area is huge! You can choose to swim in the sandy lagoon, the regular bottom pool, play on the slide, or in the circular current. You don't even have to worry about missing your favorite song...the rock music is piped in underwater. And for those that can't be apart from the gambling action, they have a few swim up blackjack tables. | | | | Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino: Expensive....upscale Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I don't know what the appeal is, it is a nice hotel, casino is great, and friends have stayed there and raved about it, but I don't see it. Gambling is great, and I've been very lucky here, but, just not my style. Great shops, different types of restaurants, fantastic wave pool, but everything is expensive.
Wave pool, lazy drifting caseways with inner tubes, and beautiful setting. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, , Las Vegas, Nevada 89Map: Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino

To me, this is one of the most beautiful hotels on the strip. Not only is the outside breathtaking, there is a moving sidewalk that takes you into the enourmous lobby, where there awaits a huge casino, light show, and even a full mall with stores such as Victoria's Secret, The Limited, and Guess. As well, you can dine at Planet Hollywood which is located right in the Palace and features the best Turkey burger ever!!! | | | | Stardust Resort and Casino: A little Las Vegas history soon to be demolished Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
As I made a VERY last minute decision to fly to Las Vegas from Reno on a Saturday night, my choices were limited as to what was available on The Strip. There are very few hotels I have not stayed in, visited friends, or walked through but since I had never stayed at the Stardust and since is it scheduled for demolition later this year, I decided to try it before this Las Vegas landmark is gone forever. In a nutshell, I was not disappointed. The last minute reservation system worked flawlessly, the room rate ($84.00 US) was reasonable for the circumstances, and the hotel, restaurants and room were clean, efficient and met my 12 hour needs just fine. I would recommend this hotel now that I have stayed here. It is not the Bellagio or Mirage but a simple old-style Las Vegas hotel-casino with modern amenities and accomodations.
I was not at the hotel long enough to really appreciate what they had to offer. I ate twice in their 24 hour cafe and both the service and food were excellent. The room I had offered a great western view to the mountains and north to the downtown/Stratosphere areas. There is a drug store right across the street (Las Vegas Blvd). so that is convenient and the hotel backs up to Industrial Blvd. where all the gentlemen's clubs are (including the Sapphire right across the parking lot and the Sapphire is touted as the world's largest gentlemen's club). | | | | Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino: Resort Living in Vegas Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
Mandalay Bay ranks up there as one of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas. Throughout the year you can find great rates on rooms, so keep your eyes peeled for specials. I also recommend joining their online newsletter - this way they will email you special rates not available, unless you're an insider. All the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The hallways do get a little confusing at times, but that's natural for any large hotel. The staff is friendly and the restaurants and casino here are beautiful, clean and trendy. If you're looking for cheap tables to gamble your money away, this might not be the place for you, but early in the day you might luck out with a $5 table. Also if you join The One Club (free) you will be eligible for discounts at all the corresponding hotels and casinos as you accrue points.
In my opinion Mandalay Bay features the best pool in Las Vegas. They have a wave pool, a lazy river as well as 2 regular pools. You can rent private cabanas complete with a/c, televisions and waitstaff if you desire. Lay out on the sand and catch some rays or have a snack at the beach shack. Just beware - if you want an inner tube for the lazy river rentals here are expensive - $20 a day! They only allow hotel guests with room keys in the pool area. They also offer concerts out on the "beach" during the Summer. The pool is open seasonally so call ahead for times and dates. They also have an aquarium featuring the only Hammerhead shark in captivity in North America. I believe that if you join the One Club you get a free admission. They also offer a free monorail that runs from Mandalay to Luxor to Excalibur and back. | | | | The Venetian: Luxurious and beautiful Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
We received a "deal" on email: $139/night, based on double occupancy, mid-week. for a suite. Yeah? Okay... My company forced everyone to take vacation between Christmas and New Year 2004, so we decided to take the offer. We were not disappointed. While yes, the place is absolutely fake, as is everything on The Strip, the Venetian was, by far, the nicest hotel in to which we walked. We didn't walk in to the Bellagio, which looked like it could be the nicest, however. The one thing I didn't like about our stay was the smell. They use some kind of cleaner or air "freshener" that I found really offensive.
Our suite had a step-down sitting area, two televisions, a huge marble bathroom with glassed in shower and a large tub (not jacuzzi, however). The bed was canopied, in suite fax/printer/scanner and internet connection for our handy-dandy laptop. Paperwork indicated that the internet connection would cost $9.95 per day, however I had the laptop plugged in and never got charged. Good luck!
