soccer girls looking to eat in Las Vegas..

by soccerboss

HELP!

18 15 year old soccer girls, their parents and I will be in Las Vegas in March for a soccer tournament.

Open to any and all suggestions for places to eat dinner at- need to be able to seat 20-25 of us (reservations if needed) and be relatively inexpensive. If at all possible we'd not like to venture far from "home base"- Palace Station. Something walkable from there would be awesome too, but not a requirement.

Are there decent places you'd recommend within Palace Station? I've read mixed reviews about their buffet, but the convenience of it is a plus too. We'd need to be able to get in and sit all together wherever we go- are therelikely to be long lines there on a weekend?

Something "different" from the ordinary fare would be cool too- but remember we're talking 15 year old girls too. I owe it to their parents to not bring them home with a "The Hangover" experience.

Thanks everyone for your advice!

research buffets and you will find an unlimited amount of choices where the girls and parents will be equally happy.

do the buffet...nice price and enough seating for all. Maybe ask manager for special pricing...worth a try.

Hmm...location, location, location... The Palace Station is not exactly near much other than I-15. There is an In and Out within walking distance, Cabo Mexican at 2411 West Sahara Avenue, Romano's Macaroni Grill (probably can set you up quite well), Landry's but they don't seem to have good ratings, and on the top end about 4 blocks east of The Strip (cab or car probably) is Pamplemousse at 400 E. Sahara... might be good for an adults night out if that's even possible during a tournament. Also heading east is Tony Romas and Marie Calanders.

Hey Al great post.
You beat me too it. I'm not sure where the poster is from but In 'n Out is an institution in the West, especially for teens.
Further west on Sahara are TGIFridays, Pizza Hut and a few grocery stores to load up on water and fruit.
Oh and if I remember, there is a Subway in the hotel and a McDonalds across the street.
A couple of miles south at the Orleans Casino is an 18 screen movie theatre and video arcade

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

October Vegas Weather

by NaughtyArty

I was in Vegas 10/23 - 10/27. The lowest daytime temperature was 80, most days it was 85-88. Nights were usually 58-63 by midnight into the wee hours.

Check your pool to see if it's still open though. Harrah's had already closed their pool when I was there.

The hotels look closer than they are. Be prepared to walk to see the free stuff. If you want my opinion, my favorite shows were the fountain show at the Belagio, the pirate show at Treasure Island, and the volcano show at the Mirage. But be prepared to walk. Lots. Most hotels offer free parking and the Boulevard isn't that difficult to navigate if you're driving.

Check out all the casinoes. It's not enough to cruise the streets. Each casino is different and if you don't checkout the interior, you're apt to miss some things. Seeing the dolphins in Mirage's Dolphin Sanctuary. There are baby dolphins as well as adults.

by rtschneider

I thought that the water show in front of the Bellagio casino was the coolest! There are scheduled times when they have the shows so find out when they are and stop to see one! They have music playing and the water 'dances' to the music. It was definitely worth watching! And while you're there, stop inside the Bellagio. Wow! That is an incredible casino!

A: "West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place."
