Another Weekly Hotel nightmare in Las Vegas

Well, we are SO tired of talking to liars associated with hotels in this city and this place certainly has there fair share! The rates are one amount one day and another the next...never a straight answer. RUDE front desk and they refused to show us anything but the "model" instead of a room we would actually be renting. This is always a bad sign and tells me they are hiding something. The rude man who showed us the model actually smirked while refusing to show us an actual rental! All kinds of extra charges they do not tell you about. I have been told it is a Siegel property and to avoid it at all cost (told by LV PD believe it or not). Keep looking and save yourself a lot of headaches.

STAY AWAY!!

Do not stay here...RUDE staff. Dirty. At check in we were scammed into paying more for a room that was suposedly newly renovated. It was NOT. Old stove, fridge, couch and dirty bathroom. We had an employee next door who got off work at 11 PM. He apparently still needed to sleep past 10 am and got annoyed at my niece running down the hallway. The walls are so thin you can hear a pin drop outside your room. Instead of opening the door or window to ask if she could walk rather than run he wrote a complaint on his next shift over exaggerating.Apparently you can't have your room door open, stand in the hallway, talk in front of your room, have your towels hang on the railing...even for a few minutes to dry from being at the pool. Only some favorite people can smoke in the pool area, depends if the pool monitor likes you. We don't smoke but saw an incident at the pool that made me cringe. Maybe they should house employees away from the guests. You also have to pay $5.00 for a laundry card which only credits you either 2 or 3 dollars towards your laundry. You DO not get the $$$ back. You have to buy everything you need in the room, it comes with NOTHING! After you get done buying your sheets, towels, kitchen gadgets and cookware you could have stayed on the strip in a lux. hotel. Even if buying everything at Walmart, which is within walking distance. My brother was propositioned by a guy RIGHT in front of the office to buy weed, when he declined he offered him pills...some good ones even...lol. I think they need to worry more about the prostitues and drugs on the property than hanging towels and 5 year old kids "running" down the hallway excited about being in Vegas. It was definitely my last time staying there.

Unique Quality: On another note...the pool was nice, until someone used it as a "bathroom" and they had to close it down for 3 or 4 days. Grow up people and take your ***s in the toilet and not the pool. GROSS!!!!!

STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!

Extreme ripoff! Initially calling in they tell you one minimum price but when you check in they throw alot of extra charges at you. Deposits, surcharges and if you need any convieniences such as linens be prepared to pay up. Forget about getting any deposits back. You are told at checkin that deposits will be returned at checkout but that is a lie. When you checkout they do a room inspection to verify it has no damage. When you expect your deposit back they tell you they need to have the room detailed first then they will send you what they decide within 30 days. When I encountered this situation I got into a heated argument with the manager. I don't remember her name but it is the short grossly overweight dyke who works days. Because I argued she decided then and there that no deposits will be returned. Now I have to take time off work to file papers for small claims court. Keep away from this place! It is not worth the aggrivation.

Long term accomodation for construction worker

by lucynoelle

Hi. My husband may be coming out to Las Vegas to work. He is a union plumber/pipefitter and was told that there is work there. Does anyone have any ideas of a low cost weekly kitchenette motel that perhaps other construction workers use? I had an Uncle who stayed in a place called the Blue Angel ( I think). It doesn't have to be beautiful, as long as it is clean. Also he would be flying out, do you need a car, or could you get around ok by public transpotation? He won't know where he will be working until he gets there. The hiring hall says there is a two week or less wait, does anyone do construction work that agrees/disagrees with that statement? Thanks for any help/info.

You might wish to check Homestead Hotels. I've used them in other locations, and have always been happy. Their rate for 2 people is about $50.00 per night, the rooms come with everything you need, clear down to the silverware.

Try asking on this board:

I found a lot of useful info there when we were hoping to move to Vegas.

I would definitely advise against the "Blue Angel" for several reasons...
#1 It's in an area known for drugs, hookers, crime, etc.
#2 It's probably not going to be close to his work because there isn't a lot of construction happening downtown.
#3 Although I have never been inside the Blue Angel, it does not look clean from the outside.

As far as having a car, I would definitely suggest it. Public transportation in Vegas is bad and waiting for a bus in the desert heat is not something I recommend.

For a place to stay, I agree that you should check into a place like Budget Suites or something similiar. I stayed at Harbor Island off Harmon(by the Hard Rock Casino) for several months and while it is not the best area, I had no problems. Reasonable rates(they do daily, weekly, monthly) and the inside of the apartment was small, but clean and comfortable.
