Tuesday Nights in Vegas? Weekday nights?
by jumpingnorman
A VTer asked in the Forum if a Tuesday night in June would be nice in Vegas --- less people? but less fun?
It may be a little warm on that Tuesday night in June but it will still be loaded with fun in the city that never sleeps. Being a weekday, there are better hotel deals, still lots of people but much less than during the weekend!
However, major concerts are usually on Saturdays as you can see on the list of Vegas concerts at http://www.wedoitallvegas.com/Las-Vegas-Concerts.asp
And yes, there's even a website that is solely dedicated on what to do in Vegas on Tuesday nights! Visit http://www.bachelorvegas.com/options/tuesdays.html
But basically, every day of the week in Vegas has something to offer --- there is reason why it has become one of the top tourist destinations! Seeing Vegas for the first time at night time when I was I teenager...amazing lights in the middle of the desert
How to get married....
by mafootje
Well we decided to get married in Vegas this year...we didn't rush into it. Last december we decided to do so because we didn't like to have a traditional wedding and being in the spotlight allday.
We arranged it al through the website and e-mail with the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel.
What documents do you need ?
1) Get a marriage license see all info you may need on this offical website.
2) Find a chapel where you want to get married, we did it at this wedding chapel.
3) After this let your marriage license be certified at the same place you got it in the first place, named under point 1.
4) Then go to the recorder office where you can get the documents to make your marriage official in your own country. For the Netherlands you will need a certified copy of your marriage certificate and an apostille. You can also order these documents by mail or the internet but we just went to the office because it is close to the license bureau. It will save some time.
Probably you won't be able to get these document during your stay, in that case they will mail it to your home adress.

Don't go to Las Vegas on peak season
by joiwatani
The best time to go to Las Vegas is when there are no conventions and conferences scheduled. There are yearly conventions held in the city so you might like to check on this. A major convention means there are about 100,000 attendees.
In January, there's the Consumer Electronics Show, usually held on the second week of January. So you can schedule your vacation to Vegas after the second week to the last week of January.
The New Year's Eve is also where Las Vegas caters to about 200,000 visitors! They come here to celebrate and it is bigger than the New Year's Eve celebration at the Times Square in New York City.
February is also a busy month because a lot of couples come here to get married!
Don't go to Las Vegas when there's the NCAA's basketball championship! The city gets really rowdy and crazy. It's called March Madness because it is held on the last week of March. We were here two years ago and it was crazy. You go to Vegas on the first week of March to the third week but not on the last week.
In April there's the World Series of Poker and the Gay and Lesbian Celebration.
May and July are better months because there is no big convention or conference held. The hotels usually have a lot of vacancy and therefore, the rates are lower to attract more visitors.
June, September, and October has annual conventions: Helldorado in June, and Oktoberfest. in September. In October, there's the PGA tour.
In November, there are usually 200,000 expected visitors on the second and third week because a lot of people in the United States take advantage of the four day Thanksgiving weekend. Besides, there is the computer convention.
Las Vegas has the National Finals Rodeo scheduled of which there are about less than 200,000 attendees. Walking around the strip with my children watching all the different free shows on the street by the big Hotels like the Bellagio's water fountain show, the Mirage volcanic eruption, the pirates fight of the Treasure Island, the Caesar's Palace fight of the Atlantis, etc. The neon lights at night are spectacular and the shows like the Cirque de Soleil are the world's best shows!
There is so much to see and do...

There is so much to see and do in Vegas, and try to go to most of the Hotels, because each one has something unique to offer. But go and see the Priate ship battle at Buccaneer bay which is at Treasure Island. It is a great show with lots of pyrotechnics, and it is also free every night during the year. The fondest memory was everything, because it is wonderful, but seeing the Cirque De Soile, was the most amazing thing, I have ever seen, and it is a must see. Pay the price, even though the tickets range from $88-$122 per person, it is worth every penny. It is very hard to get tickets, call in advance, or go straight to the box office, when you first arrive, or else you won't get to see it.
