Re: disney

I went to the Disney Character Warehouse store for the first time this past fall. I was pretty underwhelmed. I saw a lot of apparel, nothing that was hugely discounted. Lots of Disney pins, and stuff like mugs, etc. I guess I was expecting toys and stuffed animals and the like, but these were few and far between.

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

Great dining discounts and cheap travel

by Paisleypaul

Take a punt on the American Casino Guide book, which looks like it can half the cost of a buffet or meal at many dozen locations in Las Vegas - check the deals here, and there is a link to order it for $12.75.

If anyone on Blighty is interested, Spring 2010 it's £9.68 delivered from Amazon.

Also you can print innumerable discount coupons at home before you go at
http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Nevada/Las_Vegas/las-vegas-restaurants.asp

or the less well organized(!)
http://www.vegas4locals.com/couponsdining.html

and there is even an option of a day pass for all buffets at multiple locations

If you are up and down the strip now have the monorail www.lvmonorail.com, this takes you right from MGMs far as Sahara in the North, which is not too far from Fremont Street, and at worst a very inexpensive cab fare. A single trip is $5 but 3 day unlimited pass good value at $30. The Madness............

take time your to plan your evening stroll

by johnwilky53

take 10 mins to read the times of the free attractions as you walk the strip, arrive at treasure island 10 mins prior to show ,similar the bellagio fountains and the ceasars show ,dont miss these its part of the vegas experience, enjoy. arriving ,then leaving ,3 days was just about enough.we have been twice now and who knows we will probably go again in 10 years or so.

Hit the Strip! Either walk it or drive it, but do the whole thing. Take it all in. There's nothing like it. The casinos, the hotels, the people, the cars; Excess to the extreme! Turning a 20 spot into 3 hundy at The Orleans playing my least favorite game, blackjack. Beating the poopy dealer made it that much more sweet!

What do you think? Play in the Casinos! They are all beautiful. But my favorite was 'Mandalay Bay'. The colors, architecture, and interior design are wonderful there. They have alot of neat aquariums inside, too. Below is a picture I found of their 'beach'.

The Stoopid Awards

by catalysta

We decided that someone must've put some kind of Stoopid drug in the water, because 3 otherwise fairly intelligent women popped out with the damnedest statements after a couple of daze in Sin City.

Stoopid Comment #1
I awoke to a gloriously sunny day - bearing in mind, please, that we're in the Dark cycle back home in Alaska - and I was filled with admiration for the lovely blue sky. I felt all sorts of profound feelings, like the way a simliar quality of light inspired Cezanne to paint his masterworks, and led Georgia O'Keefe to her own personal vision. What came out was, "Gee the sun here is just so.....so SUNNY."

Stoopid Comment #2
Hilly was waxing eloquent about some guy problems she'd been having, and popped out with, "...and ya know, there just aren't any intuitive men." (LuLu & I of course cracked up.)

Stoopid Comment #3
Hilly's dad Dan was with us for the last couple of daze, and was soon affected by the same stoopid drug that had numbed our brains: "Hey, have you been in the Paris Casino? I was in there the other day, and do you know, they've got it decorated like you're in some street in France!" No duh.

A: "West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place."
