Try checking out the Las Vegas.com website. They list just about everything you might want to or have to do in Las Vegas. See website page: http://www.lasvegas.com/transportation/
As for the Las Vega sign, "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada", it sits south of Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on the "Strip" near the airport, feels like about a mile. Heading south on Las Vegas Blvd. after the Bali Hai Golf Club, as you near seeing the airport landing area you will see the sign. Head to the left driving lane to get to a pull out parking area for cars that allow you to walk to the green strip near the sign to take a picture. Coming into Las Vegas from the south and you have to drive past the sign and make a U-Turn at the corner of the Bali Hai Golf Club and go back south on Las Vegas Blvd. ;-)

The Deuce bus goes up and down the strip and to the outlet malls at either end. It has two lines the Gold line being the most express but it still takes a while to get anywhere.

I just googled Flamingo to Las Vegas sign. It is 2.6 miles to the sign from your hotel. The deuce bus goes near it and stops at the town square so it would be possible I guess from there.

Not sure if this link will help but...

Hi we stayed there in 2009, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel that goes to all the places u want too and it is too far to walk but it will still take a while to get there with all the traffic on the strip
Have fun u will love it there

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

Vegas Weekend

by FRED318

I have been to Vegas on the weekend and I have also went during the week, I will tell you the weekend is not worth it ! you have enough problems during the week getting dinner reservations , the weekend is allot more money just to wait ....also there are plenty of people there during the week / yes do not go on the weekend you are right !!! There is always somthing to do in Vegas , from the strip to renting motorcyles ( the best ride you ever had ) to Helicopter rides through the grand cannon .

Learn from my mistakes...

Here's a good tip...never go to Vegas with your significant other if you are planning to break up with them right when you get back...its not recommended, and doesn't make for lasting memories...aka 4 days of hell and boredom in the City that never sleeps....hope this helps!!!

For dinner a very good option...

by hokeypokey

For dinner a very good option is the Luxor Hotel at the one end of the strip. It´s got an all-you-can-eat buffet for about 13$ with a great choice of delicious meals from starters to really good salads, meat, vegetables to ceakes and cookies. It really is worth the money.

Exploring the Hotels and Casinos on the Strip

by sue_stone

We spent a lot of time during our stay in Las Vegas just visiting the various themed hotels and casinos along the Strip. These places are massive! A visit to the Bellagio and its dancing fountains is a must. Then there is the Venetian, a (not so small) taste of Venice.

Or imagine the best of the New York skyline transplanted to the desert. Want to see the largest hotel in the world, then stop by the MGM Grand. Never been to Paris, well who needs to when you can see a half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower instead. Although I'm not really a gambler, I also enjoyed walking through the various casinos, soaking up the atmosphere and hearing the cries of joy from those on a winning streak that day.

There is such an array of places to eat and drink inside the hotels, from fast food to celebrity chef restaurants, and lots of stylish bars and nightclubs for a post gamble cocktail or boogie.

Las Vegas Tip

Easter in Las Vegas and meeting this newborn celebrating his first Easter!

I also went to my friend brothers 1st confirmation in a beautiful Catholic church, how many people do that in Vegas? Go to church? :)
