Las Vegas & Grand Canyon
by cmak
My favourite things in Las Vegas must be the fantastic neon lights by night! haven't seen a more artifical-enhanced place in my life! There is so much to see in Vegas, most are free and PLEASE rent a car if you can if you're staying for more than 2 days! The area doesn't seem too big, but walking day and night, in and out of casinos is quite tiring. Last thing you want is to fall asleep on the black jack table! I DIDN'T, I stood by my penny machines! :D
AND The Stratosphere! Do try it, the view from the top of the tower is great... the ride is "WOW"!
If your budget for hotels is mid-range then try the sahara at the end of the strip. another good choice might be Circus Circus, but it is a bit of a walk if you haven't got a rental! The trip from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon! You can get day trip to the Grand Canyon from here.
I went on one with a local operator, who flew me and my family to the Grand Canyon airport (in a little plane that is!) follow by a coach trip up the Canyon. Fantastic views. a MUST if you are near LV! Costing wise, about 100 to 140 dollars on average.
Grand Canyon is truly magificent, breath taking view. not to be missed.

The most imortant activity to do in Las Vegas is walk along 'The Strip'. Is the most well-know and crowed street where on both sites you can see the more importants hotels, attractions, restaurants, malls... The best memory when I was in Las Vegas was feel that I was in different countries in few minutes...In the picture you can believe that I'm in Paris (France) but not...I'm in Las Vegas. Yeah!!!

Luxor and Karnak Avenues of Sphinxes
by Yaqui
This is a wonderful replica of the avenue of the grand criosphinxes (sphinx with the head of a ram instead of a human) that flanked the entrance to the Temples of Karnak and the Temple of Luxor. This avenue (long stone processional street called a dromos)was more than 3 km long, and had at one time more than 2000 sphinxes. These were build by King Nectanebo 1 in the 4th century, about 1,000 years after the temples.
