"OMG!! LOVE IT THERE"
too exciting to imagine!... great nite life, awesome food! and the best was the entertainment!!!!....
we stayed at the Emerald Suites as we wanted to cook sometimes... N Las Vegas BLVD... they had a pool, wonderful people that I met....they had so many offers for us...not to mention the service. There extended stay hotel was a home away from home... litterally!!!
Glad I stayed there.... however it was 3 mls off the strip... but I didn't mind... it was nice to come back and to relaxx away from the life on the strip..... it takes like 7 minutes to get on the strip...if that.... wonderful place!!

Emerald Suites - Tropicana
www.emeraldsuites.com
You want to Tropicana location....It is a couple of blocks behind Excalibur. I believe it's 1/4 mile from the strip. For a 2 bedroom suite you get 1 king bed in one room and 2 full beds in another. I think you can get a roll away if needed. I have a reservation for 6/23 for 3 nights and it's only costing us $308. I've stayed here once before and I don't hesitate recommending this off the strip accommodation, unless you're looking to stay where the casino is downstairs and all of that other stuff, but you'll pay around $109-$179/nt on the strip. Once you're up and out of the room you can spend all day on the strip in the casinos and shops....

The Venitian has huge rooms! Expensive though. Check it out.
shuttle to/from airport and a few hotel locations
by Azzuri
How much is a shuttle fare from the airport to any hotels located on strip ? Can I rely on casino/hotel shuttles, or better private/airport shuttles ?
Also, I'd appreciate a feedback on the following hotels from both location and hotel perspective:
- Arizona Charlie's Decatur
- Emerald Suites Tropicana
Thanks,

With some of the tour companies, the cost is about 8.24-9.00 for a roundtrip shuttle. Not sure how much it is when you purchase transportation there.

If you are looking for a budget choice try goldcoastcasino.com, much better location than Charlies or Emerald.
Very few if any hotels have airport shuttles. The Bell Trans and some others are right there waiting at the airport, line up and wait maybe 5 minutes and you are at your hotel within a half hour. About $5 one way.

Sorry! Are you going on Labor Day weekend, or during some big October convention?

Maybe you could see if the Super 8 Motel (on Koval, not the one on Boulder) is available for that night. www.super8.com
This is a decent location right behind Bally's hotel.......the others you mention are out in the middle of nowhere and you would have to take taxi cabs to get to the strip or other hotels.
There is a Comfort Inn that is not too bad a location on Paradise Road, I think you can walk across the street to the hard rock hotel and take their shuttle bus to the strip. St. Tropez Suite Hotel is near there, too.

My standard procedure is to take the shuttle from the airport ($5 one way) to the hotel. To make sure I get back to the airport in a timely manner I always take a cab ($13 + tip). Additional cost is worth the peace of mind. I have found you can't depend on the airport shuttles to pick you up for the return to the airport.

I use the Bell shuttle and purchase round trip. Be sure you are at your pick up point at least 15 minutes early because they usually are early.
