Excalibur Hotel Casino: New Scam at Excalibur, LUxor and Mirage    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • By Zipper on June 29, 2007
  • Excalibur, Luxor and Mirage has a new scam, and don't get caught in it.
They say that u can buy show ticket ($60+) for a discounted price($15+), But once they sell it they say that we have to participate in a tour of their new hotel to receive the tickets at the discounted price.
It will waste half of your day (around 4 -5 hours). Since they accept only cash, we can't do anything about it. Not even a charge back on the credit card.
It's either go on the tour for 5 hours and get the tickets for the show or loose the $15 you already gave them.

  • Had a really good stay here , rooms nice and large . Ideal for kids , only downside was a long walk from your room to the pavement outside.

Monorail was good it took you to luxor and mandelay bay , This hotel has two mnorail stations one on the roadside and one at the bottom of tower two , if staying in tower two get the monorail to the pavement and save a half an hour walk.

  • We have gone to Las Vegas 9 times, and we have stayed on the strip each time- however after staying at Excalibur the first time, now we won't go anywhere else!! The location is just perfect...Right on the corner, across from MGM, Ny-Ny. The neat part is the tram that runs between Luxor and Mandalay Bay. For sometimes a low price of $39 a night you can not beat it!!! The staff is nice, the room is a very comfortable size (big) No tub, I would compare to a Local Hotel- No bells, and whistles- Cheap and I am never in my room....So why pay a lot for it???

They have $5 minimums at some of the tables- and one of the only Casinos that still have a "War" table (that's right- like you use to play when you were a kid!!)

  • If you stay there, look through all of the hotel info in your room, we found 2 for 1 coupons for the Medieval Dinner, as well as free drink coupons.

In the basement there is a huge games area, like a small carnival. Lots of fun, even for big kids! Very family oriented hotel.

The outside of the hotel is really to put it mildly will blow you away. It is like a real castle and the views are great.

  • Only stayed here for one night, our first night in Vegas. We also pre-booked into another hotel - Bally's - because the hotels in Vegas are pretty cheap and we wanted to experience staying at different parts of the strip.

Internet booking was a breeze, so was check-in. The staff were very efficient and friendly enough. Although, they were a bit surprised/disappointed that we were only booking in for 1 night.

Hotel room itself was quite old tired, but plenty good enough.

Tipping in Vegas - even though you would think that it is meant to be optional, it is mandatory here. They will abuse you if you do not tip them, even if they have done nothing.

    Castle Theme. Good fun.

  • Out of the 3 hotels I stayed in Las Vegas, this was the one that we didnt like. Not that it is a bad hotel, just seemed to be a bit dated and maybe more for families with small children, rooms were clean and service was good, we had breakfast buffet for approx $14 per person, quite good, but not as good as the buffet in NY NY. Pool was clean although very very crowded and almost impossible to get a sunbed, but with temps reaching 110, I wasnt that bothered.

    More for the Children.

  • The bed was HUGE. Well, the air-coinditioning is good - good enough to keep us cold, despite the heat outside. People come in and out of the hotel, because it is also a casino. Also, they have an arcade, at the basement - i think, for the kids. I guess, it can accomodate everyone

It could probably the only hotel in Vegas that looks like a castle. :) & has a dragon inside.

Excalibur Hotel Casino: Less Expensive Hotel in a Great Location    Check Rates

  • Vegas is expensive in the summer months and the weekends. Excalibur allows you to stay in a great location for a relatively lower rate. Excalibur is the little sister hotel of Luxor and Mandalay Bay. If Mandalay Bay is the big brother, Luxor is the middle child and Excalibur is the baby. That said, you can get a decent room that's a good size and clean. Better still, all three are connected via air-conditioned walkways. That's vital in the scorching summer heat. You never have to leave the comforts of the indoors while getting to experience all that Luxor and Mandalay have to offer.

Location is key. You're getting three hotels for the price of one (as stated above). It's certainly not as plush as the other hotels, but if you're in Vegas all you need is a basic hotel anyway. Excalibur is also pretty good for kids. There is a cool Midway there and a few strolling entertainers.
