Excalibur
The rooms are pleasant enough, not fancy. The hotel has a great location on the strip and is connected by monorail to its sister properties: Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Excalibur is considerably cheaper than these other properties, so its a nice place to stay if you want to spend less money. I don't have kids but if I did, I would feel comfortable taking them here. The Tournament of Kings is also family friendly and decent for the money you spend. I would stay here again, especially if I brought my family.
Unique Quality: I won a royal flush in the casino. In general, I've had more luck in this casino than any other.
The wedding chapel is beautiful and less garish than many other Vegas wedding chapels.

A Castle in the desert
Had a really good stay here , rooms nice and large . Ideal for kids , only downside was a long walk from your room to the pavement outside.
Unique Quality: Monorail was good it took you to luxor and mandelay bay , This hotel has two mnorail stations one on the roadside and one at the bottom of tower two , if staying in tower two get the monorail to the pavement and save a half an hour walk.

A Jester amongst Knights
I spent some time in here in gambling, in their very unorthodox casino, which i actually got lost in. to tell you the truth , I really didn't care for this place, all the cheesy, corny themes are waaaay overdone, but, when you build the place tolook like a castle, what can you do to fix it? This place is for the kids, not for the mature Vegas crowd at all.

castle in the desert.
We had a great stay at this hotel in vegas,
The hotel is at the cheaper end of the market of the feature hotels on the strip however is still of very good quality with a good selection of places to eat and a great casino .
Unique Quality: The hotel, casino has a nice pool area, a kids arcade on the lower level of the hotel, shops
and bars to please most people.

Great place on the Strip!
Location, Location, Loctation!!! My husband, myself, my mom and her husband stayed at this hotel the end of Aug '05 and all four of us LOVED IT! We were not expecting much for the price but I was actually very impressed. The room was nice and clean with a great view of the Luxor, Strip and the Mountians. Basic accomidations, hair dryer, iron and board, shower stall and alarm clock but it was so well kept and taken care of. We requested a non-smoking room and got it, matter of fact we got everything we asked for in a timely manner!. Plus, they were the only hotel directly on the strip to offer a Military discount! Plenty of self parking and I really enjoyedthe massage I got and the spa.
This is a great hotel if you have kids OR just want an affordable, clean, place to stay on the strip. The dealers in the casino for the most part were fun and friendly. I got very annoyed when I visited other casino's when dealers or employees would just BUG you with questions and try to sell you stuff, but not once while I was at excalibur did I get "bugged". $1 roulette here ($4 min) was the most fun I'd had out of any of the casinos tables we visited!
It's not a "party" hotel BUT It's in easy walking distance to MGM, Luxor, Tropicana, New York New York and several other hotels/casinos that are (like MGM and New York New York) If you stay here a visit or two to New York New York is WORTH IT! I would stay at excalibur again in a heartbeat!

GREAT!
We had two days (and nights) there, fantastic!
Excalibur Hotel and Casino is in Las Vegas, Nevada and is open daily 24 hours. The 121,544 square foot casino features 1,745 slots and eighty-eight table games. The property has six restaurants and a hotel with 3,991 rooms.
Unique Quality: Service, meals and everything was great. We had a good time there.

The Casino which looks like a Medievil Castel
Only stayed here for one night, our first night in Vegas. We also pre-booked into another hotel - Bally's - because the hotels in Vegas are pretty cheap and we wanted to experience staying at different parts of the strip.
Internet booking was a breeze, so was check-in. The staff were very efficient and friendly enough. Although, they were a bit surprised/disappointed that we were only booking in for 1 night.
Hotel room itself was quite old tired, but plenty good enough.
Tipping in Vegas - even though you would think that it is meant to be optional, it is mandatory here. They will abuse you if you do not tip them, even if they have done nothing.
Unique Quality: Castle Theme. Good fun.

Less Expensive Hotel in a Great Location
Vegas is expensive in the summer months and the weekends. Excalibur allows you to stay in a great location for a relatively lower rate. Excalibur is the little sister hotel of Luxor and Mandalay Bay. If Mandalay Bay is the big brother, Luxor is the middle child and Excalibur is the baby. That said, you can get a decent room that's a good size and clean. Better still, all three are connected via air-conditioned walkways. That's vital in the scorching summer heat. You never have to leave the comforts of the indoors while getting to experience all that Luxor and Mandalay have to offer.
Unique Quality: Location is key. You're getting three hotels for the price of one (as stated above). It's certainly not as plush as the other hotels, but if you're in Vegas all you need is a basic hotel anyway. Excalibur is also pretty good for kids. There is a cool Midway there and a few strolling entertainers.

Easy access to the Strip
We stayed at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino which was an excellent choice. We got a deal here for $35 a night, and they also gave us discount coupons to stuff at Excalibur such as the Tournament of Kings, Fantasy Faire Midway, Merlin's Magic Motion Machine Film Ride, as well as spas and salon, etc.
Unique Quality: The hotel itself has a lot of convenient places to shop and dine. There is a McDonald's, a Pizza Hut, Chinese fast food, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, and ice cream shop. There are also several nice restaurants as well as a buffet place, the Roundtable Buffet.

Excalibur Hotel
Hi there,
Some relatives are getting married in LV and they've asked me to do the hotel bookings. I am hoping that someone will be able to help with a couple of questions I have.
1. Which is the best tower to stay in at the Excalibur? I've heard that some of the rooms are old and shabby. Would they give us better rooms if I asked?
2. I'm booking for 5 couples - are we likely to get a better rate for making a group booking?
Any help would be really appreciated. And please don't say 'Don't stay at the Excalibur'! It's the bride's choice!
Cheers
Re: Excalibur Hotel
Do go to the Excalibur...:-)
I don't know about the dirrerent rooms but we stayed in the tower opposite to the New York, New York Hotel... and rooms were okay, more then okay...
I can't remember prices, but certainly try to get prices down with the 5 rooms. First ask the price for one rooms then mention it is for 5 rooms... or get better executive rooms for the same price as a standard room...
Get going and have fun...!!

Re: Re: Excalibur Hotel
We stayed at the Excalibur in May 2001 - in room 4155, don't know which tower that was. The room seemed fine, if I recall correctly. Not shabby. Definitely mention that it's for a wedding party and it's a large group.
Re: Excalibur Hotel
Hi, first congratulations on the nuptuials!!
The east tower fronts the strip and faces the tropicana hotel. the north tower fronts on to tropicana blvd and faces new york new york hotel. The west tower would face the mountians and west las vegas and the south tower faces the luxor and mandalay bay hotels. You want to ask for outside rooms so you have a view, the inside rooms face the courtyard and pool area. Most hotels in LV dont start offering any kind of group discount until you're booking 10 or more rooms.
You can also get price ranges and pics of some of the rooms on lasvegas.com.
Drop me a line if I can help with any other questions.
Good Luck!
Re: Re: Excalibur Hotel
I had been doing research for Las vegas accomodation for ourselves and for this hotel the best price was the one at the hotel web page (better that other searchers are vegas.com or travelworm).
We founded that the Emerald tower is the cheaper option, and if you go some the reviews at trip adviser they are some good comments and one bad for this tower.
But as others had suggest if you email directly the hotel and try to do a group reservation, you may get discount prices or maybe some upgrades.
Sorry not been there but is one of my options, so I had done a few research LOL
Re: Re: Excalibur Hotel
Sorry, I got confused with so many hotels, Emerald towers is in MGM where we were also looking, sorry.
