is there a gift shop in las vegas that sells grand canyon souvenirs

Re: souvenirs

by travelgourmet

Grand Canyon souvenirs outside of the Grand Canyon. Well, anything is possible in Las Vegas and sure enough there is the Grand Canyon Experience. A Coney Island type of block long attractions with all kinds of tourist goodies inside. Located next door to the huge MGM logo signage on the Strip. ;-)

Las Vegas sells many many souvenirs. You would definitely find postcards with the Grand Canyon on them. I can't say I remember Grand Canyon ones but there was a book focusing on the Grand Canyon at one shop. You won't have to look far at all before you are tumbling over shops selling generally cheap stuff cheaply-the cheapest being at the outlet malls.

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

A special souvenir from each hotel

by clueless83

One thing I love about Vegas is that its the only place where the hotels themselves are the attractions. I also love that the hotels aren't just generic looking places to shower and sleep, they have themes, some even house wild animals and nightclubs! I love that at one moment I could be shopping in New York and then half an hour later be dining in Paris or riding a Venetian gondola.

A friend who looked at my holiday photos said that Las Vegas looks like a toy town, indeed it does, Las Vegas is a playground whether you're a gambler or not. Sure, you can have a flutter but there's plenty to be seen and done other than gamble all your hard earned cash away... When in Vegas we thought it would be fun to buy $1 poker chips from each hotel casino to keep as a souvenir. Some hotels will just sell you the chip at the top of the pile, some will know what you are doing and try to find you a chip thats not too grubby. One lady at the Luxor actually got a baby wipe out and cleaned the chips for us!

Other Things to do In Las Vegas

by RACCOON1

You should not start to walk the casinos until around 6:00 pm or when it cools down.

There are other things to do for day time activities such as :
(1) visiting Hoover Dam
(2) watching USAF planes landing and taking off at Nelllis AFB , the home of teh USAF Thunderbirds.
(3) Driving up to Mt. Charlston , located around 35 miles NW of Vegas. This is a good place to cool off , the top of the drive being at 8500 ft. altitude. Divre north from Vegas on highway # 95 and turn off at highway #157 . For the drive down take the alternate route highway # 156 . The descent offers a spectacular view and the road has few curves which makes the descent a bit exciting

Check out the Fremont...

by harris474

Check out the Fremont Experience, cruise the strip and visit the 'Ranch'. Just walking down the strip at night is an awesome experience. Even though Las Vegas is trying to be a Family Adventure these days, you must go 'childrenless' on your first trip to really enjoy what Las Vegas has to offer. Where else in the world can you visit Paris, Egypt, Venice, New York, and Rome in less than half an hour? For international dining, you must visit the Buffet at the Rio. There is nothing else like it.

getting "free" stuff in vegas

by LIifeLover

nothing in life is free, but you can get some benefits when you gamble (besides a drink and eye candy)

the comped rooms usually come when you lose big (cuz they feel you've earned it?) or when you win big (cuz they want to get it back)...high rollers need not look here at my little tip, but the way the comps work for average joes is through a membership you show the dealer or stick in the slot machine, which gets you rated every time you play...yes, this can result in free stuff, but the amount of money played to 'earn' these things depends on the hotel, how much you play and more importantly, they watch how long you play...(I came to the crap table with $700 once at the Venetian hotel and played for about 30 mins, and that got me a suite there for example). . . possible to get a free room/dinner/show tickets (shows at that particular hotel) if you do indeed play, I think it depends what mood they're in too, so it's worth the try

Home of the white tigers

by KaiM

Visit the Mirage. In the lobby you can see the white tigers of Sigfried and Roy behind huge glas windows. In a pool they have dolphins. But the biggest attraction is the artificial volcano in front of the hotel directly at the strip. At night every 15 minutes this mountain erupts. This photo on the left was taken with the volcano in the background on New Year´s Eve.
