Baseball

by sootiespeckle1978

I already know there is no major league in Vegas and the minor league is the 51s - is this a good game to go to...on about maybe going to their Friday night with fireworks game in April...as our first baseball game...would it be a good enough experience?

Re: Baseball

by riorich55

The 51's are what is known as a Triple A Minor League Baseball team. The players that are on the team are just one more step from the Major Leagues. Some players on that team have already played some games at the Major League level, but for one reason or another aren't on the Major League team at the moment.

A lot of the Minor League games are actually more fun to go to then the Major League games. They do more entertaining things between each half inning to draw in more fans.

I have been to a number of both Major League and Minor League games. The Triple A games are very good and highly competitive. It will be a good enough experience.

A Triple-A baseball game will be a great introduction to the sport. Back a couple of years ago, when Tucson still had a team, it was a really fun thing to do on a Thursday or Friday night with friends. Minor league games are less serious and more laid-back, especially from the standpoint of the fans. They're also full of players that are trying to prove themselves, so the games are actually generally pretty good, as opposed to the lower-level leagues where there are a lot of dumb errors. Then again, those lower-level leagues in those smaller towns are really interesting in their own right.

I don't know that they would have fireworks but have you considered checking out the University of Nevada at Las Vegas? The Rebels.

College baseball can be pretty exciting and is competitive. You might check out their schedule to see if they have a home game that would be convenient for you.

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

Always use the valet parking

by joiwatani

Here's a tip. When you are driving to Las Vegas, make sure to use the valet parking. It is much easier than looking for a parking space at a parking lot. Most of the parking lots are located too far away and the walk is such a waste of time if you didn't have a lot of days spent in Las Vegas. If you valet park, all you have to do is to give your keys to the attendants and they park your car for you. And when you needed your car, they go get your car for you. And, the best part, it only cost you - maybe $5.00 for a tip!

This tip was given to us by my father-in-law who lives in Henderson. He told us that it is best to use the valet parking and save us a lot of pain... Watching the Cirque de Soleil with my family

choose your game

by doug48

black jack (21) is a game that if played correctly gives the house the smallest advantage. statically the house has a 6% advantage if the player plays the game correctly. this is the best edge you will get on any game in a casino. you must learn when to hold, hit, split, and double down. the idea is not to get close to 21 but to get closer to 21 than the dealer. correct play will greatly improve your chance of winning. there are a number of free tutorial websites on the internet where you can practice your skills before you go to the casino. many of these websites offer or advertise online gambling. avoid online gambling at all costs ! most are unregulated and are huge rip offs. as in any casino game remember to manage your stake.

Play games. I used to play...

by prophead

Play games. I used to play craps, which I hear is the best odds if you play it right. I'm going to try a little poker this year. In general I spend most of my time playing video games. Many casino's built video game places for the youngin's while mama and papa roll the dice, but heck why shouldn't I get hours of entertainment out of my pocketfull of quarters. 'I have no specific recollection of that...'
