manage your "stake"
by doug48
obviously the huge hotels and opulent casinos in las vegas were not built by winners. in the long term the odds against the player will always favor the house. if you are lucky and manage your stake you may leave las vegas with more money than you arrived with. your stake is the amount of money you plan to gamble on a given session or day. in order to increase your winnings and decrease your losses you must manage your money. i personally use the 50/50 rule. for example if my stake is $1000 and i lose $500 i am out of the casino. on the other hand if i win $500 i take my winnings and go. the biggest mistake a gambler can make is to get into the hole and keep trying to win the losses back. also when ahead there is the urge to keep gambling because now you are playing with the "house's" money. over time you will give your winings back. never gamble more money than you can afford to lose. if you manage your stake you will have less stress and more fun at the tables.
The Skyline is full of landmarks!
by MarvintheMartian
The stangest thing is these landmarks really shouldn't be here - but they are and what a wonderful place it makes it! The madness of it all - just makes me smile and laugh a bit at the thought of it all!
When in Vegas do as all the...

When in Vegas do as all the tourists do and visit as many casinos and buffets as time allows. Don't worry about weight gain......you hike miles just inside the larger casinos. There is enough to do to keep you busy for hours and days. You can't do anything but enjoy.
The Casino picture is Mandalay Bay and the one that I enjoyed the most. They have a great restaurant, wave pool, meandering river for tubing and an aquarium with sharks
Too much caption
by mht_in_la
Since the Blue Men don't speak, they rely on caption to "speak to" the audience a lot, as shown in photo. It's a waste of my time, and hard to read for those who sit in the back rows. If I want to read smart comments I'll just read New Yorker magazine or write some myself like I do everyday on VT.
Again I enjoy the music the most (I hope there's more), and the strobe light effect is cool. Part of the show felt like Pink Floyd concert (although BMG refers to Jefferson Airplane in the end). BMG is the kind of show you only see once if you are curious at the first place.
Gold nuggets in Golden Nugget
by mht_in_la
Inside the Golden Nugget Casino, there's a display of all the gold nuggets the casino collected over the years, including the largest piece in public display in the world. It weighs more than 60 pounds, and was discovered only 6 inches below the surface using a metal detector. It's called "The Hand of Faith" because it's shaped like a hand.
