We stayed for two weeks at the Hooters Casino Hotel in Vegas, first impressions ; small friendly casino, bedrooms cosy, the bed was fantastic, very clean and comfortable, view not good, small windows. Within 5 mins walk of the strip. The hotel does cater for the younger crowd, so the pool area was very crowded and noisy. Good restaurant in the casino, we fetched the takeaway breakfast every morning to eat in our room.
I would recommend this hotel to the 18=45 age group.
It is cheap and convienient, the posher MGM is next door.
Good as a base.
Unique Quality: comfy bed
Directions: Five min walk to the strip, near the MGM
I’ve not stayed at Hooters so cannot comment on the rooms but I have visited. It’s OK as long as you can put up with the rather tacky orange décor. The property isn’t one of the big prestige ones, the casino is quite small but has a nice outdoor seating area with a pool and the whole thing has a fun beach party feel to it. Probably more one for younger groups looking for a decently priced fun venue. The location is OK, the Tropicana is next door and they have some free daytime shows and there is an interesting gambling museum. The MGM is across the road and there’s a walkway from there across the Strip to NY-NY. At the MGM you can also pick up the monorail that will take you up the Strip casinos stopping at the Paris, the Flamingo, Harrahs, LV Hilton and finally the Sahara. Another plus about the location is that if you want to go Downtown (everyone should) you can get a bus (CAT) without going up the Strip which is very slow, either get the 105 up Koval Lane or go further along Tropicana to Swenson and catch the 108.
Being from Virginia, I actually felt at home in Hooters Casino. It was like being in Nascar country in Vegas, full of Dale Jr new merchandise having country boys just trying to get a glimpse of a scantly clad waitress. All in all, with the hardwood floors and decor, the casino had the same exact atmosphere as any Hooters restaurant. With my Dad being from Myrtle Beach (Hooters headquarters, it very much felt like a homecoming for me! I didn't stay here, just gambled here, but would consider a stay with the friendly staff and cool activites the casino had going on.
Unique Quality: Hooters girls everywhere and some neat sports-affiliated activites and events.
hooters was great! we werent sure what to expect considering the very smal price we paid to stay here for 5 nights but it was fab! the rooms were basic (well basic when youve been i a suite in TI for 2 nights that was bigger than our house!) but clean and there was definately nothing to complain about.
we arrived about 1 and our room wasnt ready until 4 so we checked our luggage in and decided to go for ultimate americana and get some beer and wings in hooters! the wings are yummy by the way, the perfect partner for a cold beer!
we then decided to go outside and have a look round where we came across the pool bar! nipper juice is scrummy! its a (very very strong) frozen rum punch!
we had agreat first day in hooters and the rest of the week matched up perfectly! we were in great spot and really close to everything. if i went back to vegas i'd definately stay here again!
Unique Quality: *small hotel/casino so felt more personnal than the other hotels
* nice pool and jacuzzis
*great staff
*great price for vegas
Directions: just behind the tropicana and over the road from mgm
*** 2006 Update - the San Remo becomes the Hooters Casino Hotel ***
I found the San Remo Hotel/Casino on Travelocity, for a (what I thought was a) modest $59 US/night.
Beside the famous Tropicana Resort, and across the street from the MGM Grand, it's conveniently located as the closest large hotel to the airport, yet a 10-minute walk to the Las Vegas Strip.
Not a name one would recognize, it doesn't attract stars or celebrities, but you can't get closer to the action without blowing your budget!
Unique Quality: Now the Hooters Casino Hotel, I wanna go back to Vegas!
Directions: Just off the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip.
All I really have to say is the price & service was great. The rooms were ok, but who spends much time in their room, anyways. I spent a total of maybe 4 hours throughout the entire weekend sleeping and showering in my room, otherwise, I was out on the strip!
Unique Quality: The views weren't all to be desired, I got to see the pool from my room, that's about it. I did like the gambling experience here, especially the craps table. The bids were low, except after 4am, then it doubles. I did well, that being said I didn't gamble until the last day. But even with that, the comps were easy to obtain. I believe this was a good hotel for someone who is going to vegas on a budget.
Directions: From the airport, follow the signs to Tropicana. Take a left on Tropicana, and after you pass Koval at the next left, Duke Ellington Way. From Interstate 15, follow the signs for Tropicana East. A block past the famous Las Vegas Strip, on the right.
March 2004 and April 2005...I like that there's a casino in the hotel, but it's a basic affair.
Also great that you can wait in the little music lounge near the door while waiting for your friends.
It's not swank, but the staff is nice, it's affordable and it's a great location
For the second stay we were in the same tower of rooms, but the room was BETTER and had a hair dryer included
I'm very sorry to see that it will become a Hooter's property and probably won't stay there again
Directions: at the corner with NY, NY, MGM and Excalibur
Note - this tip was written when Hooters was the San Remo...
The San Remo has a lot going for it, but we'll have to see what they lose once it becomes the Hooters Casino. Location is very good - next to the Tropicana and across from the MGM. Check-in was a bit slow on a Saturday morning, but not too painful. Staff seemed friendly enough. Ordinary pool area. Rooms are nothing spectacular, but great for the price. We found that staying here was only a couple of bucks more than the Motel 6 next door, and you get access to a casino. The casino is small, but they do have fairly low limits. Machines seem to be a bit on the older side. Restuarants on-site are nothing to get too excited over.
This is a great option for now if you're on the south end of the strip. Rates are very affordable, the casino has some solid qualities, and the rooms are OK.
Directions: South Strip
The San Remo was on the cheap side compared to the other hotels on the strip. We didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a hotel and a travel agent suggested that the San Remo was a great place to stay. The building was very run down and out dated. The food was not good at all.
Our room was very clean and we had a pretty good view of the Strip. So if you just want a place to crash for the night (or two) then the San Remo is a good place to stay with a great location.
The San Remo is just behind the Tropicana and across the street from the MGM Grand.
Unique Quality: Unique qualities? There really isn't anything unique about this place.
Directions: Across the street from the MGM Grand.
First time to the new Hooters Casino & Hotel
Hooters
Hooters
Hooters at Bayside in Miami
Hi all,
I am keen to stay along The Strip hotels.I'm looking at either Hooters Casino hotel,Sahara or Stratosphere.Or is there any hotels that you can recommend me that offer free parking?
Basically all the main resorts offer free parking! It's customary that you tip the valet 1 or 2 dollars when you drop off and pick up, but other than that it's free.
Don't stay at the Stratosphere, the rooms are a dump, the tower is nice to visit though. I'd probally choose the Hooters over the Sarhara. Check out The Luxor or MGM Grand.
There is free self parking at all Casinos also but, as Jojo says, use Valet. its just too convenient
Sorry, Jono
