You can always find a great package deal to Las Vegas. The casinos will do anything to get you in the door. Our last trip was only $198.00 for rt airfare and hotel. You can generally find a good deal no matter what casisno you want to stay at. Travel agents tend to have a little better deals than the web.

We like to stay at the Monte Carlo or San Remo.

The Monte Carlo is a beautiful hotel. Very upscale but with great rates. It is in a good location with easy access to the other casinos on the strip. The tables start at $5.00 min. and they have a massive slot selection.

The San Remo is a small hotel just off the strip. You cannot beat their prices anywhere. It is nice and quant with a relaxed atmosphere. It's a great retreat from the hussle and bustle of the strip. The slots selection is limited, but they have $2.00 Black Jack Tables!!! Thats a huge plus with me! They also have $1.00 Roulett and Craps. Low cost hotel and low minimums at the tables, this is the perfect place in my book.

$60 - $70. search the web for even better rates for off times.

Great little hotel. Small, quiet casino (not a great slot selection, with many old machines). Good buffet. Great service. Prices are a steal.

  • The San Remo has a lot going for it, but we'll have to see what they lose once it becomes the Hooters Casino. Location is very good - next to the Tropicana and across from the MGM. Check-in was a bit slow on a Saturday morning, but not too painful. Staff seemed friendly enough. Ordinary pool area. Rooms are nothing spectacular, but great for the price. We found that staying here was only a couple of bucks more than the Motel 6 next door, and you get access to a casino. The casino is small, but they do have fairly low limits. Machines seem to be a bit on the older side. Restuarants on-site are nothing to get too excited over.

This is a great option for now if you're on the south end of the strip. Rates are very affordable, the casino has some solid qualities, and the rooms are OK.

    Location of San Remo compared

The San Remo was on the cheap side compared to the other hotels on the strip. We didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a hotel and a travel agent suggested that the San Remo was a great place to stay. The building was very run down and out dated. The food was not good at all.

Our room was very clean and we had a pretty good view of the Strip. So if you just want a place to crash for the night (or two) then the San Remo is a good place to stay with a great location.

The San Remo is just behind the Tropicana and across the street from the MGM Grand.

Unique qualities? There really isn't anything unique about this place.
