Luxurious Resort Off the Beaten Path

Normally, when visiting Vegas, it is much more desireable to stay on the strip with all the hustle and bustle. But, we stayed at this wonderful resort (business purposes) about 15 minutes west of Las Vegas Blvd. It really isn't that far to get to the strip and if you like to golf, this is probably ideal! I was impressed with the relaxed atmosphere, large rooms, great bathrooms, comfortable casino and free valet. This is a great consideration and wonderful alternative to staying on the strip. People in the casino were there because of the conference or they were locals who gample periodically. Had a great time here!

Received a great rate because of the conference.

Relax in Vegas

As much as I like Las Vegas I find that most of the hotels on the “Strip” are too busy, especially at weekends. Some of the pool areas get very crowded and the atmosphere is not conducive to relaxation. I accept that relaxation may not be high on most peoples’ agendas when visiting LV, but if it is then you should consider staying here.

The hotel is about 20 minutes drive from the Strip, but there is a casino as part of the resort complex and there are a number of restaurants. Although not in any a scientific study, my opinion was that the slot machines in the Rampart Casino were nowhere near as generous as those as in the casinos on the Strip – so be warned.

The rooms are spacious, as a frequent stayer in Marriott hotels I got an upgrade to a very nice one bedroom suite. There is no Executive Lounge, but depending on your status in the Rewards Programme you may get vouchers for a buffet breakfast in the Ceres Restaurant.

Unique Quality: The swimming pool area is very nice and even on the busiest of days was not overcrowded.

Great Hotel outside the chaos

JW sure does know how to make mama happy with all its little perks.

I have NEVER been remotely unhappy with a JW Marriott and this place makes staying at the Mirage akin to staying in a chicken coop compared to theTaj Mahal.

The rooms are E-N-O-R-M-O-U-S, bathrobes fluffy, Bathrooms large enough to park a truck in, but instead I would rather park my butt firmly in the double whirlpool tub before I rinse in the shower equipped with a brass rainshower head...

The food is divine...as is the staff....beautiful grounds

A definate repeat for a romantic getaway

Off the main Strip

A fair way off the strip (as is Green Valley), but well worth it if you are looking for a place to relax - it hasa great spa and close to a number of golf courses.

Big rooms, big bathrooms - as one comes to expect from LV hotels, but all tastefully done. We used it as a conference centre, which was very good.

There is a fantastic Gym and Spa where one can escape and relax.

A lovely place to stay if you are not fussed about being a fair bit away from the Strip.

Unique Quality: Close to Golf Courses - we played at one - fantastic.

Luxurious hotel OFF the strip

Excellent facilties. Large, spacious rooms. Large bathroom with 2 sinks, jacuzzi and shower. Shower has 2 shower heads.

The hotel has a nice cacino.

I was there for a conference.

It takes approx 20 minutes to get to the strip by car or shuttle bus. It can take upto 45 minutes if there is traffic.

If you plan on being on the strip all the time, you probably don't want to be here.

Great Place

by A TripAdvisor Member

Stayed here for two nights while on a business trip (seriously!!) and it could not have been better. Check-in was great, facilities are clean, spacious, well appointed, and staff could not have been any friendlier or helpful. Rooms are large and, at least the one I stayed in, had french doors to a small balcony. The strip is only a short drive away so this is a perfect location for those who want to avoid the constant crush of that area.

Best service in Vegas!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Stayed here with the wife over the New Year weekend. We wanted to stay away from the craziness of the strip. The service was unbelievable.
Checking in, we asked for specific requirements after reading some of the previous reviews here. Carisa, the front desk person, not only showed us a map and description of each available rooms, but offered to escort us to preview each!! The room we did choose was terrific. The bathroom was enormous, with a separate shower and a 2 person whirlpool tub. The bed was nicely firm, with thick linen. The room was also very quiet. The attached casino was also nice - not too large, but with all the games that we'd look for, and not too crowded. On top of it all, we got a great deal at $123 a night, including a $32 voucher for breakfast everyday. The entire experience was positive and we are planning to stay here again the next time we are in town.

Wow!

The JW Marriott in Las Vegas was superb! The rooms are very large and comfortable-even the standard room feels like a suite! My husband and I stayed there over Halloween and we loved it so much that we have returned back to the Hotel twice in 2 months! The spa jucuzzi tub in the room was very relaxing and the seperate shower with the rain feature was very relaxing!

Even the Casino located in the hotel (Rampart) was very good. The only part of the stay we did not enjoy was the Rampart coffee shop-the service there was horrible! (But it's not part of the JW just attached.) We highly recommend the JW in Vegas!

Wonderful place!

We had a room with a patio in the Palms Tower which was absolutely amazing! Room was oversized, bathroom was huge and the jacuzzi tub was fun! Despite being far from the strip, it was a fabulous, relaxing, quiet place to stay. Will definitely consider it again.

We've come back 2 times!

by A TripAdvisor Member

After being devoted Mirage fans for years, we decided to give JW at try because of a deal they were offering. The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms were also. We were upgraded to a suite but only after having to ask. We usually are upgraded automatically at Marriotts because of our platinum status. Then we were given a lecture about how upgrades were only given if they were available. This was less than six months after Marriott bought the property and the staff did not seem to be on board with the "Marriott Way". They were less than helpful the entire time.
Still, we came back again because of the fabulous pool, grounds and rooms. The second time (spring 2003) the staff was much more helpful and courteous. While we didn't try the restaurants or casino that is on the property, there are GREAT restaurants just down the street (Cheesecake Factory and Claim Jumper). If you want the bustle and nightlife of the strip around you 24-7 then this isn't your place. If you want a relaxing getaway with the strip nearby this is perfect!

Great!
