Trip to hoover dam and grand canyon west
by eternel2002
This is an one day trip to Grand canyon west with a stop in hoover dam, it was organized by the hostel, there are lot of tours organized from las vegas every day.
The trip took about 5 hours, during it we enjoyed seeing the real far west from the window of the van. Arriving at the grand canyon, we left the van and we took the bus from pont to point to visit the rim west of grand canyon. Amazing trip :)
Low rent gambling

If you want to go to Vegas and skip paying for a building - stay in Old Town, Downtown Las Vegas. Sure everything smells of cigarettes and is dingy - but you can't beat the price or that the casinos are so close to each other.
Admittedly some of the best places to eat aren't there - but yu can get a great deal and gamble on low limit tables all the time downtown.
My preference if the Horseshoe, but you may find something that suits your taste more. What isn't there to like.

Gamble That's the whole purpose of Las vegas isn't it?
The place is one huge fun park where you more like can loose than win, but it is entertaining doing either. Walk The Strip and check out all the new big theme hotels. Like this one Paris Paris

You must try you hand at the slot machines. They do have 5 cent slot machines and these are real fun to play with.
The first night we made 400 5 cents from just a dollar.
And on our last night, we made over 800 5 cents from the money won in the first round. :)
That bought us a free meal! heehehee...
I found the Monopoly slot machines in Flamingo really fun and easy to play. Go check them out.
Besides playing the slot machines, it's a good idea to get out of town and visit the Grand Canyon! One of the most amazing sights I've seen! Would be the first time i struck the jackpot! And i wasn't even looking!
I had just stretched my arm across to the machine on my left and pressed spin... and the next thing i knew, they were lining up and I'd won 400 5 cents! Imagine if i had played with a bigger bet! ;p
Airline check-in internet kiosks in hotels
by sue_stone
In a couple of the large hotels we visited we noticed some handy internet kiosks whose main purpose seemed to be as a flight check-in and boarding pass printing facility. What a great idea.
You can use cash (min $5) or your credit card to access the internet via the kiosk, choosing up front how much time you want (and this can be increased during your session). Once you have paid, the machine opens up to a page with a list of airlines and links to their check-in pages.
Be aware that if you do want to print off your boarding passes this will cost you an additional $1 per page, so is not included in the basic internet charge. We used the kiosk to check-in for two separate flights and found it easy to use (apart from an unusual mouse) and the speed was fast. You can also use the kiosk for regular internet browsing.
