Buffets with beer/wine

by danielribo

Is the buffet at the LV Hilton the only one offering beer/wine as part of the meal? I haven't been for about 18 months, but from memory it was pretty good and not having to pay extra for drinks was a nice change!

Any other hotels/casinos offering the same?

The Studio Buffet at M Resort also includes beer and wine in their buffet. And to top it off - the food is spectacular. Here's what I say in my review on my Vegas pages:

"...As far as buffets go, this skyrockets to near the top for me. The buffet winds all throughout the room, with plenty of delicious offerings including a generous Asian section, pizza, seafood, sushi, and many others. Everything I tried was good. They also have two unique items. One is there is a wine and beer station included in the price. The other is the dessert line, which featured a dozen flavors of gellato as well as made to order specialty coffees.

This is a great value. I hope to visit again soon!"

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

Strike a pose at Madame Las Vegas (like me here)

Madame Troussard's Wax Museum

It's typical tourist stuff, I know, but you have to pose with your favorite figure. Here is mine, Gloria Estefan!

Here's a general tip: don't be caught without a camera at the museum! The cost to buy one-time use camera at the museum was about $18- this price for a retail $6-$8 camera!! Oh, scandalous!

ALADDIN an absolute must while in Vegas!!!!!

by vegaslover

Thank you Jimmie and Jed for making our trip to Vegas and the Aladdin the BEST! After my first trip to Vegas I began receiving the frequent mail outs with special room rates and various freebies. We now visit 3-4 times a vear and have tried many of the hotels but after our last visit Aladdin will be our "Vegas Home" from now on. We are average working folk who just love the Vegas atmosphere. Love to gamble but not real big spenders. From the moment we arrived at Aladdin we were treated like we had just won the lottery! Even though we were staying at an extremely low room rate, our request was granted for a room up in the high levels with a view of the strip, directly across from the B. fountains. Every staff person we encountered in the hotel and casino was friendly and helpful especially at the club desk by the great daily slot tounament. They all seem dedicated to making sure everyone has an enjoyable and 'fun' time which is what Vegas should be all about. It made losing all our money a little less painless too! The hotel, casino, and shopping areas are all fantastic. The show Society of Seven was very funny and entertaining. Just can't say enough!!

Gamble without guilt! Take only what you can afford to lose then you won't feel bad when you do cause you will! Riverdance-saw it in Chicago several years ago but it just happened to be at The Aladdin so we went and it is still great. Interesting note-their hair was mostly blonde and even in the ads it was dark-maybe they fell into a vat of peroxide!

'The blocks around the intersection of Fremont and Main Streets in downtown Las Vegas are known as Glitter Gulch. The first neon sign in the city went up here in 1929; now millions of lightbulbs and miles of neon tubing bathe the Gulch in perpetual daylight. This is where you'll find Vegas Vic and his pal Sassy Sal - two of the best-known neon icons in the country. Some of the city's most famous casinos are in the Gulch, including the Golden Nugget and the Gold Spike, as are most of its strip clubs. Aside from slowly cruising down Fremont Street and basking in the multicolored glow, there's little to do apart from gamble, drink or watch naked people slither around poles. Shopping consists mainly of souvenirs.'

What's a trip to Las Vegas without seeing a show and the showgirls. These dancers were part of Bill Acosta's impersonation show. Bill's part of the show was only mediocre at best (he's not doing many current celebrity impersonations), but most of the showgirls were topless during the show, and we got reduced price tickets.
