Not bad for New Year's Eve
The La Quinta Inn and Suites-Summerlin Tech Center is located on the northwest edge of the city with convenient access to Hwy. 95 (a straight shot to the Las Vegas Strip). This hotel provides spacious clean rooms with lots of amenities (free high-speed internet access in all rooms, microwaves and refrigerators, outdoor swimming pool and complimentary continental breakfast).
Unique Quality: Our room was huge and this is a pet friendly hotel (which is a big plus). The location also affords views of the nearby mountains. We got a sweet deal especially with it being New Year's Eve.

A: "West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place."
