Mandalay Bay ranks up there as one of my favorite hotels in Las Vegas. Throughout the year you can find great rates on rooms, so keep your eyes peeled for specials. I also recommend joining their online newsletter - this way they will email you special rates not available, unless you're an insider. All the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The hallways do get a little confusing at times, but that's natural for any large hotel. The staff is friendly and the restaurants and casino here are beautiful, clean and trendy. If you're looking for cheap tables to gamble your money away, this might not be the place for you, but early in the day you might luck out with a $5 table. Also if you join The One Club (free) you will be eligible for discounts at all the corresponding hotels and casinos as you accrue points.

In my opinion Mandalay Bay features the best pool in Las Vegas. They have a wave pool, a lazy river as well as 2 regular pools. You can rent private cabanas complete with a/c, televisions and waitstaff if you desire. Lay out on the sand and catch some rays or have a snack at the beach shack. Just beware - if you want an inner tube for the lazy river rentals here are expensive - $20 a day! They only allow hotel guests with room keys in the pool area. They also offer concerts out on the "beach" during the Summer. The pool is open seasonally so call ahead for times and dates. They also have an aquarium featuring the only Hammerhead shark in captivity in North America. I believe that if you join the One Club you get a free admission. They also offer a free monorail that runs from Mandalay to Luxor to Excalibur and back.

I don't know what the appeal is, it is a nice hotel, casino is great, and friends have stayed there and raved about it, but I don't see it.
Gambling is great, and I've been very lucky here, but, just not my style.
Great shops, different types of restaurants, fantastic wave pool, but everything is expensive.

Wave pool, lazy drifting caseways with inner tubes, and beautiful setting.

This is an awesome hotel. It's definitely the best hotel that I've had the pleasure of staying in in Vegas. This, of course, doesn't include the suites that I've stayed in with other (read: rich) relatives.

So far, THE Hotel isn't as well known as other hotels despite being at Mandalay Bay. The bellhop said that they're currently running at around 50% occupancy. And that's in the summer. Try going during the week as the rates are over 50% less than on the weekends.

If you're into being hip, this is your place.

The best qualities of this hotel are the amenities inside the suite. There are three plasma TVs including one in the bathroom. I watched ESPN while taking a shower. That's great!

The decor is very hip, swank. You'll feel like a high roller sittin' on the plush couch watching the big-screen plasma TV.

Also, the body lotion smells great!

If you have children and they love swimming, make sure to book your family at Mandalay Bay. They have the best pool so far since you can actually surf in their pool!

Located at the side of the hotel with nice tropical garden beside it, the hotel's pool is a state of the art swimming pool! There are actually waves that comes out from the back of the pool. It is imitating the real waves in the ocean! The swimming pool also has sand. They put tons and tons of sand close to the swimming pool!

Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino also has a Shark Reef. It is an aquarium where the kids can have interactive activities. My children came here to actually feel the back of a sting ray and touch the starfish and the sea urchins!

Since I didn't actually stayed for the night at the hotel, I can't really describe my stay at the hotel. My boss actually stayed at the hotel and she said that the room is fabulous and the room service is excellent. This is a five star hotel and the price changes depending on the season - peak season or low season.

The hotel is rated as a five-star hotel. It is one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels in Las Vegas. The hotel has many amenities like restaurants, gardens, spas, cabanas, swimming pools and of course, their casino.

Mandalay Bay is great! The rooms were spacious and had luxurious bathrooms even in the standard rooms. It's right on the strip and has good clubs and restaurants inside.

The wave pool is a lot of fun. There is also an over-21 pool, which you have to pay to get in to. It has a swankier ambience but is not for the squeamish or easily offended.

I love this place. Mom rates it as her absolute favorite and since staying there refuses to stay anywhere else on the strip. The rooms are huge, the bathrooms great (separate shower from bath), and the roomservice menue ideal.

A huge water park for a swimming pool, many great places to eat, a good nightclub, a concert hall that produces fanstastic shows, good service, and nice bathtubs make up for the distance that lay between it and the other hotels. Can't say enough good things about this place. A monorail connects it to Excalibur and Luxor. By the way, the water park is 11 acres and has its own beach.

the mandalay bay is a nice resort located on the extreme south end of the strip. the only drawback to this hotel is it's location. however they offer free monorail service to the excalibur.
a very nice hotel moderately priced.

  • My family and I stayed in this hotel only a few weeks after it was first opened. I was able to get a very good rate on a room through their online site and I requested a room facing their enormous pool area. The hotel decor was, as you might guess from its name, very tropical and quite elegant. You will find small aquariums, tropical plants and cool marble and limestone in the lobby. Since our stay there, to build upon the theme of the hotel, they have added a special attraction called "Shark Reef." You should allow yourself at least 45 minutes to see this attraction featuring an extensive aquarium and exhibits which actually are quite nice.

The problem we had with the hotel was a problem with maid service...they just didn't show up or only did part of the room. I attributed this to the hotel being so new, but that didn't make it any less maddening. What was worse was that the staff manager didn't think that it was as much of a problem as I did and didn't really offer any kind of compensation until I pressed the point.
The Mandalay tends to be one of the more expensive hotels and I believe the Manager should have done more to please customers.

The pool and gardens are quite extensive and give this hotel a unique appearance; I particularly liked the waterfalls and Asian elefant statuary. All this was set against the backdrop of the soaring hotel's golden-mirrored facade. This hotel also contains a venue for top-rated, big ticket personalities and groups. As you come to expect with hotels in Law Vegas, there are a number of high-end restaurants such as the House of Blues, The Noodle Shop and the lovely Raffles Cafe.

The standard hotel rooms such as the one we had was an amazing 500 sq. ft., and the marble bath was luxurious to say the least. The least favorite aspect of the Mandalay Bay to me was it remoteness from most other hotels except it was right next door to the Luxor, and the central, action-packed part of "the strip."
