dangerous gun-slinging security

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 4, 2011

Don't stay here very dangerous gun slinging security guards. He seemed mad at the world trying to make up any reason to pull there guns on people. Not a safe environment why did anyone let these men have guns in the first place this guy acted very childish making up lies telling me, "Havn't i told you not to come back here." I said. "I've never been here before this is my first time here" He lied, " we have you on file." If you guys have me on file whats my name when was i there? I have never been there before i just started a job handing out fliers several witnesses watched with disbelief asking why he did that the reason i was able to get away i think is he realised there was a witness and backed off for a quick moment then he said " run scronny white boy" I said something back. Then he hopped in his cart and chased me and tryed to jump behind me i backed out and drove away as i was backing out he pulled his gun on me a second time. i was told to go there and put out fliers next thing i know i have him in my face pushing me up against the wall trying to hand cuff ,me he had no right when I've never been there before. Luckily someone was watching add said something so he backed off for a second because there was a witness. I was told by my boss you won't be arrested or even trespassed your first time passing out fliers at a place they only can ask you to leave then if you come back they can trespass you and if you come back again they can arrest you. Well this dirty security gaurd who should never have been given a gun and thank god hes not a cop! Just what we need right? I called the cops on them and of course cops took forever so for our own safety we found a way to leave and left they kept trying to box us in these SO CALLED SECURITY were very dangerous and do not belong having guns people like that is the reason we have gun laws and reason innocent hard working people end up dead! Be careful if you stay there these gaurds think its ok to pull a gun on you for no reason and are looking for a excuse to shoot anyone they can. Its possible this man is x military with pds be careful not a safe place for family why do these guys have guns anyways its not a casino or anything like this just a motel. Mace should suffice. They are there to protect the guest not cause dangerous situations for working people like this! I hope this mans boss finds out and he loses his job someone needs to take his gun before some innocent teenager, kid or young adult ends up dead. I'm going to do everything i can to see this happen. If anyone can help notify the public of this issue or at least have this man told to quit being so quick to draw a gun please feel free to help thanks. I think anyone that has a gun should at least have to do a short psych evaluation showing that they are stable mentally and when they come back from over seas if they have psd they should get the proper help they can because i appreciate everything those men do for are country but that doesn't give them a excuse to pull there gun on innocent people and not follow procedures.

Unique Quality: dangerous place wouldn't bring my family there

Mandatory daily room searches/inspections

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 16, 2008

I called down to the desk for "no service" and was informed that they would be entering all rooms to inspect/search for "??????"

When I asked why they said- they have lots of bad things going on there. Motel 6 is taking "low class" all new places.

My brother had his dog running wild in the streets but they denied they went into his room.

They have huge signs all over they are not responsible for your belongings but they are going in all the rooms then denying it when somthing goes wrong.

Anyone else lost a dog at the "pet friendly" place?

They say you can't leave your pet in the room. But it is illegal to leave your pet in the car in the desert. I checked out immediatly and went to Hawthorn Inn and Suites in Henderson - way better and acomodating for close price with free breakfast and 24hr pool and hot tub and beautiful rooms! Dump the motel 6 nazi's.

Unique Quality: Motel 6 is working hard to take "low class" to a whold new low.

Directions: Scary area. Lots of unsavory people and wino's and criminals by the employee's own admission. BAD AREA!!

My first mistake in vegas

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 27, 2006

This place sucks. Its way expensive and you get nothing. Rooms are bad. They had an asbestos problem when I was there and had to get the place abated. The pool at my houst is bigger than here. Has no prestige at all. I have stayed in motel 6 before when on road trips and those were nicer than this place. There was alot of shady activity going on there too. I would wear sock in the room, dont walk barefoot. I'm sure the place is used to film low budget pornos.

Unique Quality: What is outstanding about this place is how much it costs and how little you get. That is awesome. (thats sarcasm if you havent figured it out.)

Best buy in town

This motel is very close to the strip, but without the noise en traffic. There is a small pool with sunbeds, which is nice to cool of in. The rooms are big enough and clean. Next to this motel there is a small restaurant that serves decent breakfast.

Directions: Behind MGM grand on Tropicana avenue.

If you are going with a bunch of friends and just want to be cheap. Stay here, it's at a walking distance from the Strip. Just right next to San Remo. Anyway you won't be at the hotel that much.

Unique Quality: Cheap and safe

Huge Motel 6

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 24, 2005

I believe I read somewhere this is the largest Motel 6 in the world. It is huge! Check-in can take a while since it's so big and they only have a person or two on staff. Rooms are small and of standard motel quality. Location is a little better than many chains - next door to the San Remo (soon to be Hooters) and down the street from the MGM and Tropicana. Some of the clientele was a little shady, and there were a few loud parties in the motel. Didn't take the time to check out the rest of the grounds.

For a Saturday stay, to avoid the high casino rates we might consider this one again, but there are probably better choices. I would not say you are guaranteed that good night of sleep.

Unique Quality: Nothing, really.

Directions: East of the Strip (south end)

Best Value, 5 minute walk from the Strip

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 31, 2004

Unique Quality: We found the Motel 6 to be the best value with the best location. It was only a five minute walk from our motel to MGM Grand and New York, New York. It also had free convenient parking for our rental, right outside our door, and it even had a pool! The rooms are impeccably clean and well kept and the staff were extremely friendly.

I strongly suggest you make your reservations ahead of time on the internet. The regular price for the room is $110, but if you are able to get the internet rate, it will only cost you $62 on a Friday or Saturday night and $43 the rest of the week! A huge savings.

In fact, even if you decide to stay elsewhere, if you plan your visit NOT on the weekend, you will save substantially on your hotel stay.

Directions: one block behind the Tropicana Casino and very close to McCarren airport

Final Option

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 8, 2004

I wouldn't say it was an option. We set off from Santa Monica at 11:30pm and reached Vegas at 3:15am, there weren't that many hotels' front desk that are still open, plus the fight at the MGM. It was a real bad idea going unplanned. Worse of all, we have a handicap... my two dogs! I would say about 95% of the hotels do not take pets. Well, we drove around aimlessly, not knowing where we were, and we stumbled upon Motel6 and I remembered looking at their website that they take pets! They were almost sold out too. We were the last ones that got the last room. What a relief.. at 5am, we finally had a bed to sleep on. %c

Unique Quality: We did not spend that much time at the motel as we were suppose to check out at 11am, we only got about 4 hours of sleep, the motel was in O K shape... it was $84 with tax per night. Which I think is a little expensive, but judging from the location and time of week plus the fight... I think the price is about right? I was just happy that we get to have some sleep... Oh, it's only one dog per room, but I snuck my other dog into the room, they never check anyway hehe besides my dogs are so tiny nobody would notice them :D

Directions: Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana, beside the airport

When you're sleeping, looks like a big fancy hotel

by written on December 17, 2002

Why pay more? And why walk? Motel 6 is smack dab across the street from the MGM Grand, you can park next to your room, it is a short cab ride from the airport, there is a 24 hour coffee shop, 24 hour store; and a large pool (for some reason they tore out the jacuzzi). The rates are very competitive and you don't have to walk through a casino to get to your room. You can often walk in without a reservation.

Unique Quality: From the MGM Grand across the street, take the free monorail to Bally's and cross the Strip to get to Caesars or the Mirage. You can also walk to the Tropicana, Excalibur, and NY NY from here.

Directions: I-15 at Tropicana , exit 37 east

The Motel 6 are not bad...

by written on September 2, 2002

The Motel 6 are not bad either. Most of them have been brushed up by now.
Depends on how many people you are. Up to four people per room; the first pays about 50-55 Dollars, all the others about 6 $ per head.

Unique Quality: The price of the stay depends - as in the hotels - on whether you want to stay over the weekend or during the week. So plan your trip well!

Directions: There are a few in Las Vegas. Don´t forget to book well ahead!
