Restaurants near City Center and Aria Hotel

by nicolaitan

we will be spending several days near the city center, aria and mandarin oriental hotels - not really interested in huge and expensive breakfast and dinner buffets or over the top dinner costs. any suggestions in the city center for good food, or nearby within walking distance. thanks. n.

City Center is self supporting and with the mutitude of restaurants within the complex itself, you should be able to find what you are looking for in "good food". Not all of the restaurants are "over the top dinner costs", but they are close. lol Head out from the City Center, if you can, into the glitz of the Strip. Many fine, not too expensive restaurants are within a couple of blocks. At the MGM Grand, the "Rainforest Cafe" for breakfast is superb. At Planet Hollywood, across the street, their cafe is typical American food with a good steak for under $30 dollars. Most Strip hotels have a cafe or a dining room for every budget. At the Mirage, what else but the Carnegie Deli for a great sandwich. In Vegas, anything is possible, even a decent meal at a reasonable price. Hard to believe mentioning Vegas without talking about gambling. Viva Las Vegas.

Downtown, Fremont Street, has some great options. Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens is a great deal on a steak house as is Binion's Ranch across the street.(GREAT VIEW at Binions)

Griff. True, Downtown Las Vegas has some great inexpensive dining, but to walk six miles away from City Center for food is a bit much. Of course, some very fit people, like yourself, would think a six mile jog is within walking distance. ;-)

I have had several good meals at the Steakhouse at Bally's (http://www.ballyslasvegas.com/casinos/ballys-las-vegas/restaurants-dining/ballys-steakhouse-detail.html) You can check out the menu for prices. My in laws like the restos in the Forum shops by Caesars Palace, but I was not all that impressed. Karl

Long legs Larry, ha ha.
There is a PF Changs in the Planet Hollywood, Battista's Hole in the Wall behind Bill's Gambling Hall, Margaritaville in the Flamingo, Harley Davidson Cafe across the strip.
All you need to do is go onto the strip and walk abit, there are restaurants galore

Karl, my favorite two in the mall were Caviarteria and the Stage Deli, unfortunately both have closed. I now have to go to the Mirage for the Carnagie Deli, it's worth it

The beer was very good Pedro, forgot to eat

Pedro, the Hofbrauhaus is wunderbar! I stayed across the street at the St. Tropez, now Rumor, so the Hofbrauhaus looked intriguing. Great beer, great food, and great entertainment. Hard Rock Hotel is across the street, as well. October coming up and the "Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier" goes great with the schnitzel. :-o

Hmm... I should say it's the unique character and beauty of each individual hotel that impress me... :) The interior and exterior design of the hotels are classy, extravagance and luxurius... It seems like a hotel viewing tour for me... hahaha Walk along the strip, and visit to each invidividual hotel...

Enjoy 'The Bar at Times Square' in New York - New York hotel. They have dueling pianos that play there each night, that are fantastic. My family went to Las Vegas for my parents 50th wedding anniversery last August. And we stumbled on this establishment about 9:00 on a Saturday evening and stayed tell they closed. Seeing Elvis at the Hilton in 1976. It only cost $25 plus the tip to the matradee. What a show!!! .

the map shows that it is right next door.

by delcity

the map shows that it is right next door. this may be true or not if you have a map that only shows the hotels/casinos. the paris is right next door and attached to ballys. also barbary coast is right next door to the flamingo.
however the monte carlo is not right next door to the new york new york.
also many maps show the distance from the barbary coast to the venetian and from the barbary coast to the mgm to be about the same. it is not barbary coast to vevetian is 0.7 miles. barbary coast to MGM is 1.41 miles. also if you plan to cross over from one side of the strip to the other. it is not alowed between the paris to a good distance south of the aladdin.

Visit the gardens at The Bellagio. It's nice to be surrounded by beautiful flowers in a town full of tacky things. I have been amazed at how dim the lighting is in most of the hotel/casinos. The Bellagio is a light-filled exception.
