Hoteltips in Vegas

by veliaze

Hi!

We will be crashing 2 or more nights in Vegas tonight or perhaps tomorrow and was just wondering about a really nice place to stay. Pricerange around $100-200.
My girlfriend has heard about a hotel that has a artificial beach that she very much would like to stay at. Anyone know what hotel that is?

We would like a modern style decorated room/hotel since we´re not that much into old style furniture and stuff. This is however not an requirement.

Any good tips you guys can share?
We need to move on now so we won´t have time checking reviews and stuff online, which is why we need to bother you virtualtourists out there :)

hope to hear from ya.

Mandalay Bay is one of the hotels that has a beach, wave pool. It is a very nice place to stay.

As mentioned, Mandalay Bay is the hotel with an artificial beach with a wave pool, a lazy river and a common shape pool. The rates to stay start within your price range. Read about the hotel and the amenities at: http://www.mandalaybay.com/

I'll third that the Mandalay Bay is probably the pool you are after. If that doesn't work, I just did an Expedia check, and here are some others that would probably work with your criteria: Hard Rock (off strip), Palazzo, Mirage, and Vdara at City Center.

Good luck!

Manadalay Bay, rooms can be found at a discount on the internet. the rooms are modern and nicely appointed. Always ask for a up-grade, say you drop 15g there the other night and this is what is left for your vacation. Cheers Tommy x

Travel Tips for Las Vegas

Best Place to Gamble & Freebies

by SRobeson

Harrah's is my favorite place for playing Blackjack (and one of the cheaper one's on the Strip too). Here, you can get in the game for $5 most of the time unless it's Friday or Saturday night and I more than doubled my money in no time flat. Walk away people...walk away before you lose it all back to them because you will.

Make sure you get a comp card where you stay and put it in the machines or give it to the dealer when you gamble and you will earn free stuff before you leave. Based on how long you play, you can earn a lot of stuff without breaking the bank on gambling. I spent maybe $100 in one week and earned 2 free t-shirts and a $10 coupon at the snack bar. Drinks are free in casino's so do NOT go to the bar. Tip the servers. They deserve it. I can't think of my fondest memory of Vegas because the entire trip itself couldn't have been more perfect. Spend time to plan your vacation and I hope you have the same problem of deciding which is your favorite memory.

Wander and Gawk

Of all the places I've been, this is the one place where I was totally comfortable being a wide-eyed tourist. So go ahead -- look, stare, GAWK! Point. Laugh. Take a picture. Take another one. Turn around and gawk some more. My best memory is spending my wedding anniversary sampling the tastes, sounds, and sights of Vegas.

Go to Caesars Forum Shops! See Penn & Teller (if they are playing at the time)! See Blue Man Group! (I CANNOT stress this enough!!) Stay at the Luxor! Ride the Big Shot! Walk through Paris, The Venetian, Bellagio! Watch the Fountains of Bellagio! I miss the Tellerfish! I miss the lights and the neon! I miss the joy of being able to find something to do at any time night or day! I miss hanging out with my friends in Vegas!

So far, my fondest memory of Las Vegas was eating a nice dinner with Teller.

Player's Club Cards

by truesunn

Don't forget to sign up for FREE Player's Club Cards at each casino, especially if you are a slot player! Luckily, many of the cards are good at many of the resorts so you don't have to sign up individually at each one, and can use your comps at any one of the participating hotels! (Example: Park Place Connection is good at Flamingo, Paris, Caesar's, Ballys and LV Hilton)

Comps, for those of you who aren't gamblers, are points you earn by gambling that can be cashed in for free hotel nights, free dinners and other perks!

Be sure to purchase a bungee cord to keep your cards on for ease and convieniece if they don't provide you one with the card. I lost one when I forgot it in a slot because the brightly colored, long cords also serve as a reminder the card is in the machine!
