I had high expectations for this hotel and entered with trepidation. I hated the fact that they tore down the old one, Vegas seems to have no respect for its history. And then they changed it, only a couple of years later, to Planet Hollywood. I generally dislike places that try to cater to the young, beautiful and foolish. Yet, I was not disappointed.

We might be a little biased about this hotel because they upgraded us to the Penthouse level. Still, the room was very large, the same size as the one I'd had on two previous trips, and the amenities were the same. The bathroom is large and boasts a separate tub and shower. There is a television in the bathroom as well. I watched TV while taking a bath. It tickled me. Our towels were purple, not white, and that tickled me as well. Our view was amazing-the Bellagio fountains. Room service was not too terribly expensive. The buffet, The Spice Market, is the best in town, or so I have bene told. I have only eaten at a few. The hotel also offers P.F. Chang's, one of our favorite Asian eateries. The casino is okay, but at the end of the day, just a casino.

    Hi Everyone,

If you're planning to stay at Planet Hollywood I recommend that you pick a room that has a strip or fountain view.

The casino hotel has been refurbed since they took it over from the Aladdin. Plenty to see and do and the casino itself is huge with lots of slots, table games.

The playing field sportsbook and bar has loads of plasma tvs featuring every different kind of sports game.

Also the miracle mile shopping mall will leave you spoilt for choice with lots of diffferent kind of shops to choose from. When checking in you will recieve special discounts and offers for the hotel. Such as discounts on food and drink, casino promotions etc.

If you're into the casinos then apply for an A-list members card, this will help you when playing slot games just insert the card into the slot machine you're playing on and good luck to you! Go to the A lister's registration area in the casino and there you will be given the card and some more discounts and special offers as well.

Spa by Mandara has lots of different types of therapies, treatments and great message. However book early in advance to avoid disapointment!

I hadn't tried the swimming pool area yet but hope to check it out on my next visit.

Planet Hollywood in my opinion is an amazing casino and hotel and I can't wait for my next visit.

Pick a room that has a strip or a foutain view. The Hollywood Hip room is very well equipped with a very nice and big 42 inch plasma television.

Marble Bathroom is big also with seperate toilet, deep soaking tub, and shower. Also nice and big mirror with alll your usual attachments, shaver's mirror etc...

You also have nice lighting in the room with desk, mirror, armchairs etc...

Though named Planet Hollywood, the hotel should be Planet Times Square, as the amazingly high tech scrolling ads and Hi-Def screens on both the facade and the common area reminded me much more of Times Square than anything in Hollywood! Formerly the Aladdin, Planet Hollywood has some very hip scenes from the new Miami influenced Club Prive to the crazy-sexy-cool Tropicana Bar on the south end of the hotel. I've been told the rooms have not been redone since the Aladdin, so this means you're still getting a cozy place to stay at a decent price during your Vegas stay. The shopping here is nice as well in the Miracle Mile Shops. Planet Hollywood is definately marketed at the young and hip with tons of positive energy that I'd recommend being a part of no matter what age you are!

The Times Square facade almost outshines the Bellagio fountains at night.

After the change over from the Aladdin, Planet Hollywood had some really great deals to get people to check them out - so we did in the summer of 2007. While the basic structure of the Aladdin is the same, I found the casino to be very nice on the inside. Check-in was fairly easy on a weekday morning. We got an awesome coupon book - 2 free tickets to Stomp Out Loud and 2-for-1 at the buffet (which still is great.) The room itself is nice - comfortable beds, decent view of the strip. They try to include some Hollywood memorabilia in each room - we had a weapon from a TV show. The Miracle Mile shops that wrap around the back of the hotel is a great thing to have - there are a couple of ABC stores (similar to a Walgreens) so you can pick up snacks, drinks, and the little stuff. Plenty of tourist knick-knacks, and a few decent quick dining options. The location is great too - next to Paris/Ballys and across from the Bellagio. An excellent deal for the $50 we paid a night. The one bad thing I found about Plant H is the pool areas are terrible - little shade, little decor, and very small. You'll burn to a crisp in the summer time.

Stayed here for 2 nights in December when I was taking my parents and sister to Vegas.

    Room - very good
I opted for their 'resort room' because it has a view of the strip. This was a disappointment since the view I had was of a construction site next door at the strip.
However, the room is huge (about 450sqft) and is nicely appointed with comfy lounge chairs and a flat screen TV.
Bathroom is huge with a separate shower and tub; and two sinks.

    Price - very good
I paid $120/night (weeknights) which was the cheapest strip-view room I could find on the strip.

    Service - good
The best thing about the room is the availability of HD sports channel, including NBA TV and Setanta. This is probably the first room I've stayed in my life that has the dedicated soccer channel for no extra fee.
On the downside the room does not offer a coffee maker.

    Overall - very good
I would definitely stay here again. It's such a guys room though with the sports channel and flat screen TV.

We checked in late at night and we were lucky. We got an upgrade to the junior suite. Kind of apartment the Osbournes have when going to Vegas (at least that's what I thought when stepping through that door).
OMG what a large view! And what a suite! It was not really my style: a lot of black fussy extravagance and very few light, but this is Vegas! The room was impressive. And ... we enjoyed it!
I guess we had the Superman suite, while there were lots of show cases with Superman window dummies and accessories.

Bar, kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, a huge tv screen in the living room. One has to sit at least 10 meters from the screen to have a clear view! Another tv in the bedroom and a bath with sliding door opening towards the living room. He he! Taking a bath with view over the Strip... weird!
Too bad we had only one night to spend.

The other photos show the bath opening onto the living room (Superman's pyama at the left), a view of the living room and my husband with another Superman window dummy.

Planet Hollywood is a wonderful hotel. Compared to the other hotels where we stayed in Vegas, this is the best. Good restaurants and fantastic buffet (Spice Market). Nice shopping centre too. The central location on the strip is a "plus".

To say I was excited about this hotel...would be an understatement. It was my first trip to Las Vegas this past weekend and through a friend's work we were able to hook up a sweet deal for a Friday and Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort (for those of you Vegas-veterans this used to be the Aladdin). I must say when we first arrived I was pretty impressed, its grandeur face-lift matched the scape of the strip perfectly. The front desk was attentive and very accommodating (we asked if there was a chance for a last minute upgrade, and with a smile the woman behind the counter made out suite a junior suite-- for free!!). The room itself was beautiful (a bit on the smaller side) but with a great view of the strip and a plasma tv, huge tub, double vanity-style sinks, and a work area (not that we were planning on using that :)). With that said-- the disappoints were the following-- no mini bar, no fridge ( I REPEAT NO FRIDGE...come on people, Im paying 300+ a night here), and again the space wasnt as much as two ladies with their entire wardrobes could have hoped for. Overall the rooms were nice.

The elevators however were TOP NOTCH. Yes I know that sounds wierd. But imagine you have had a few too many cocktails and you have to ride 19 floors to your room... and there is it-- a plasma tv nestled in the ceiling for your enjoyment... I mean I could have curled up and slept there had my friend not suggested otherwise.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if only because the price is amazing for the location and overall its a pretty nice place to pass out after all the shenanigans.

The energy of the place is a nice combination of Vegas fun but also a bit more chill than other options (from what I hear). The pool scene is def on the mellow side, so for those of you not looking to come back MORE exhausted from your weekend getaway then when you left for it-- this might be a good balance.
