More about Primm Valley Resort & Casino

Day 5

by yeah_baby

Departing Las Vegas for Primm

This morning we are off for a short 35 minute drive just south of Vegas to the exciting MGM owned, Primm Valley Resort-Casinos with a free buffet . Staying here for 6 hours, which should be enough time buffet and explore all 3 mono-rail connected casino hotels, and if you are daring, you can take a fun filled ride on one of the highest and most exciting roller coasters in North America at the hotel.

Connected to the Primm Valley Casino is the Fashion Outlet Mall with over 100 designer stores featuring outlet prices at just a fraction of the cost

DAY 6 Drop-offs at Las Vegas Blvd

(The Strip) Today instead of getting picked up by the bus to go to the Luxour Hotel Casino, we decided to sleep in and go out own speed. Also got a chance to try the city bus to the Strip and check out the various routes where the bus went.

At 4:00pm instead of going with the regular pick up stuck around town and check all the resorts down the strip and tried some restaurants.

The nite was very pleasant and balmy. One could actually walk all the way from the Strip to Downtown Vegas in hr. and half easy.

There is so much to see and do in Las Vegas and lots of wonderful experience for everlasting memories.

Enjoyed the Vegas Experience with free nightly entertainment such as the Mirage Volcano that rumbles and roars to the spectators delight and as well as many other shows and attractions.

Just outside the Four Queens Hotel Casino is the famous "Freemont Street Experience, which is the one-of-a-kind Light and Sound Shows derived from over 2 million lights and 540,000 watts of concert quality sound, presented each night at dusk.

Primm Valley

by RAINBOWWINGS

Just about 25miles south of Vegas on the 1-15, right on the California State line, is another small casino resort, Primm Valley. Theres a large shopping outlet there as well as some attractions and rides for the kids. I must admit the shopping outlet seemed to be about 15 yrs behind everywhere else, but we were on our way back from the Hoover Dam after taking a drive thru the desert, and decided to call in. Its quite a sight as you are driving thru the dry arid desert when suddenly up pops a whole resort with casinos and rides...worth a drive out if you need a break from the Strip.

Viking Tours 9 Day Vancouver-Las Vegas

by yeah_baby

"Day 1"

Today we headed on south-eastwards through scenic Washington and Oregon with an overnight stay in La Grande, Oregon.

"Day 2"

Departed La Grande for Wendover, Nevada

This morning we left LaGrande and made our way through eastern Oregon and Idaho onto north-eastern Nevada to Wendover, where we enjoyed an exciting night at the Rainbow, Peppermill or Montego Bay Hotel/Casino in Wendover with a free buffet and $7 USD cash and coupons etc.

These three lovely hotel casinos have wonderful all you can eat buffets and over 1,000 slots each as well as numerous table games and gift shop etc.

Minutes before we enter Wendover, we saw the great salt lake which is mostly famous for the numerous land speed records which have been set there. The vast and mysterious salt flats are a delight to behold. There was plenty of time to try lady luck at over 1,000 slots and numerous table games that each casino has to offer.

"Day 3"

Departed Wendover for Las Vegas
driving through the scenic and lovely mountains of Eastern Nevada. We stopped in the high mountain town of Ely, Nevada where one can buy lunch or snacks. Many Hollywood films were staged in Ely because of it's rugged surroundings.

After lunch, we continued driving south to Las Vegas where we stayed for 4 nights at the Four Queens Hotel Casino at Freemont Street.
Here we had 3 full days to enjoy all that Vegas has to offer with plenty of time to relax if you want to.

The Four Queens Hotel Casino is in the heart of Freemont Street, well known as having the loosest slots in Vegas. Lots of casinos abound this street for absolute fun and excitement, not to mention the spectacular light show that starts every evening on the hour just outside your hotel.

"Day 4"

Drop-offs at Las Vegas Blvd (The Strip) This morning there was pick ups at our hotel and drop offs at the Treasure Island Hotel Casino on the strip. This, of course, is optional, but they provided this service for free of charge so that one can fully enjoy the Vegas experience.

At 4:00pm one has option of pick you up again and bring us back to our hotel so we enjoyed some more fun and excitement in your casino, or you can stay longer and make your own way back to your hotel at your convenience.

Las Vegas Experience in one day

by dutchguy001

"The start"

Hi, again I'm on a business trip to Orange, California and I decided to use the weekend to go to Vegas. I only had 2 days of course, as it was a weekend. I drove on saturday morning, left at 5 in the morning to return on sunday in the afternoon. It was hot as H%*&ll with temperatures well over 99 degrees fahrenheit (37 degrees celcius), combine that with a 4 hour drive to Vegas and a 6 hour drive back and you can imagine how I felt when I got back to Orange

"Primm Valley"

It was a good thing I had a rental car so I could drive there myself. It's really strange to see, you cross the Nevada state line from California and the first thing you see, is a group of Casino's in the middle of the desert....... The place is called Primm Valley and houses a few casino's a factory outlet and a roller coaster and that's it. It's really in the middle of the desert with nothing around it but desert.....

"FAMOUS BUFFETS IN VEGAS"

by slaybelle

The Great Buffet Debate:
Here in Vegas, they take buffets very seriously. Everyone has a favorite. 'Course, some people aren't too concerned about the food as long as the price is dirt cheap. Others are extremely picky and believe that a higher price means better quality. The latest contest is between the Rio and the Fiesta. If you happen to be in Vegas on a Wednesday evening between 4 and 10 p.m., the Seafood Extravanganza at the Fiesta is a mere $13.99. However, for convenience, though at a much heftier price ($27), the Rio's Village Seafood Buffet is on the Strip and available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

whats working for primm valley like?

by richnot

Im interested in working for primm valley casino. anyone have any advise on working here? I hear they have on site housing. How is that?

RE: whats working for primm valley like?

Primm is located at the Nevada/California border. Tons of weekend visitors either staying at "stateline", "border", etc. Get quite a few bus tours that bring in a lot of foot trafic as well. They welcome truckers as well. A lot of rigs pull in to hang out or stay overnight.
They used to have mobile homes for the employees, but since have built apartment housing. You can rent a studio or share a unit that can accomadate up to four persons. In due time this place will become its own city. Not quite there yet. Few gas stations. Few restaurants. Outlet fashion mall. Golf course located down the road on California side. Still a half hour drive into the city of Las Vegas. Before reaching Las Vegas there is a couple of casinos in a area called Jean. 2 casinos 2 gas stations, and airport for light aircraft.
Weekend brings in more "pop" to Primm. Weekdays it tapers down a bit.

California Trip in Mid Jun

by shin01chan

Hi all, i am planning for my first trip to california and will need valuable feedback from all friends here. My trip will start from LA to Anaheim to Las Vegas (Includes day trip to Grand Canyon) back to LA then to Hearst castle then end in San Francisco. I will be driving thru out the trip.

1) Which area in LA should i stay? Heard is not safe to roam ard at night if stay downtown.

2) Any recommendation for accommodation in Anaheim that is near to disney and not to taxing for the pocket?

3) Is Primm Valley & resort worth staying for a night?

4) I am visiting hearst castle and planning to stay a night in central coast. Where exactly should i stay? I am thinking of San Simeon, San Luis Obispo or Pismo beach are....Or any better place to stopover for a night?

5) Where will you all recommend for San Francisco stay?

Regards

Primm - NO! Waste of time.

Los Angeles- how many days will you be in LA and what do you plan to do there (i.e. looking for place near beach/ near Universal, where?)

Try to plan Las Vegas for Sun Mon Tues or Wed Thurs, fri and Sat is more $$. Same for San Simeon/Pismo Beach.

For San Francisco, if you will still have the car, you need to stay where parking rate is included, Columbus Motor Inn or Buena Vista Motor Inn or Super 8.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I only have 2 days in LA. Planning to go Universal studio and ard hollywood area. I will stopover in LA again before heading to Hearst castle. During the stopover, i intend to go Santa Monica area. My concern now is more on hearst area, whether to stay in San Simeon, San Luis Obispo or Pismo beach.

RE: RE: California Trip in Mid Jun

San Simeon is very quiet, but a good place to stay if you just want to sleep, then take an early morning tour of the castle. Pismo Beach is a bit more lively.

Personally, I would leave L.A. late morning after traffic, stop for breakfast in Santa Barbara, take late afternoon tour of Hearst, then continue driving up to Carmel or Monterey for the night.

Grand Canyon is too far if you just have one day. I would recommend Zion National Park instead, just 2.5 hour drive from Las Vegas.

For LA, I would drive directly to Anaheim first. Then travel north to Burbank, the Holiday Lodge is affordable and a short walk to Warner Brothers studio (recommend the tour). From this small motel you can take the bus to Universal (more amusement-park then studio tour),or it is a short 5 min drive. Then you can take the subway up and down to Hollywood.

For Santa Monica try baysidehotel.com

When you have decided on your exact itinerary, come back for driving directions/freeway advice.
