Low Cost, High Fun

I stayed here for one night my very first trip to Las Vegas. I was going for a school event (M.U.N.) so we needed some place cheap. This place is very affordable and comfortable. Its not the most luxurious place in town but our room was clean, not to small and the shower worked.
Key Largo is kind of, off the strip but not too far (taxi will get you there quick), but there is a casino down stairs. They have a bar, live music and many slot machines and card tables. Not as overwhelming as many other casinos can be, this place has a more intmate feel. Talk to the ladies that takes your drink orders, they are very nice and if your polite, they come back more often (drinks are Free as long as your gaming~not at the bar~ but tip the girls if you can).

Unique Quality: I really had a good time at this casino,,, what made it so great is I won $60. playing Elvira nickel slots. Every one we went with won a few dollars at this casino in some form or another. I havent won the same anywhere else. But it was enought to cover my part of the room stay and have some left over. Its worth a try and even if you dont win the rate are good enought where you wont be hurt over it.

Still close enought to the strip for other casino and eating options. That way if you really like the town you can check out the other hotels for you next visit with out going broke.

pic to come.

Cheap off The Strip Hotel

I was worried about paying less for a hotel that i hated. I wanted to be comfortable but not feel dirty. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We had a free shuttle ride from the airport, check in was easy, there is a nice courtyard from the lobby to the room with little palm trees and benches. The bathroom sink is outside of the bathroom in the sort of closet area which is no big deal. Tv had about 12 - 13 channels but we weren't there to watch tv anyway. There was a cute tiny little kitchen with a mini fridge, great to keep bottles of water in (Don't drink from the faucet!) but i couldn't keep my pina colada in the eiffel tower in the fridge, it was too tall. They had hourly shuttles to and from The Strip and the airport.

Unique Quality: The restaurant was nice, for hotel food, open 24 hours. The first waitress we had was outstanding! The rest were pretty good, one even remembered what we always ordered. They had the best cheese burgers in the world!! I am not kidding, big, juicy, with everything and fries on the side for $1.99!!! I kid you not! The BEST!! The casino was ok, smoky and filled with locals.

BEST KEPT SECRET

THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND FROM OUR BALCONY WE COULD SEE THE PYRMID MOTEL THAT HAS A BEACON THAT GOES STRAIGHT UP. THE SERVICE WAS FAIR BUT NOTHING TO BRAG ABOUT. IT HAD A GREAT POOL. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET. THE CASINO PART WAS ALITTLE BELOW AVERAGE. BUT ALL WE NEEDED WAS A PLACE TO SLEEP.

Unique Quality: THE VEIW WAS NICE. THE POOL WAS GREAT. NOT TO CROWDED.

Affordable off-strip lodging

Located just a few blocks off the strip, this is perfect for the budget minded traveler. Rooms are clean and quite large with a small fridge and sofa as well as queen bed. The onsite restaurant is very inexpensive although the food tends to be nothing special. At check-in you receive a book of coupons for free and reduced price drinks as well as additional discounts. The pool is located in a central courtyard that is nicely landscaped. One small elevator is located in the casino, and the layout of the units means a meandering journey to some rooms. Best bet is to request a first floor room if you have any amount of luggage or difficulty walking.

Service was excellent, the staff very friendly and accomodating to all needs. They offer a free shuttle to/from the airport and strip. On a recent stay, they stored luggage for me while I took a 10 day side trip into New Mexico/Arizona. Since I left NY with enough luggage for a month's stay, it was greatly appreciated!

Unique Quality: Quiet courtyard area around the pool is nicely landscaped. Small casino and restaurant onsite. Close enough to the Strip to walk, although a free shuttle is provided as well.

Rates vary with the season, I searched Expedia and found a 29.00/night rate in October but expect to pay $40 or more a night.

A: "West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place."
