We had stayed at the Super 8 on Koval Lane. I would recommend this hotel, prices are reasonable!
Unique Quality: You are within walking distance to the strip which was so nice not having to fight with the traffic driving. The service was good, hotel was CLEAN, and they had a well kept pool outside.

Hi,
i hope to be across in CA in June (two weeks) starting in San Fran, down to LA, Las Vegas, then back up to San Fran via the Grand Canyon.
Now, flights and car hire are semi-sorted, but the main worry is with accomodation.
Do hotels offer any kind of "membership" whereby i can stay in any of their chains in the same state? I plan to spend most of my time in San Fran, maybe an overnight in LA, a night or two in Las Vegas and then obviously any sleeping in between travel arrangements.
The emphasis here is on cost.
Any ideas?
I would look at maybe hotels.com or travelocity.com for ideas on the cost of hotels and availability in San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. I personally know that San Francisco would cost you probably $100 to $175 a night for a chain motel. Las Vegas offers great deals during the middle of the week. Your biggest concern for available acccomdations should be in the Grand Canyon area. If you plan to stay around there, make your reservations ASAP.
I'm not sure I understand the question. Even within the same chain, room rates and availability vary from hotel to hotel.
Some of the chains, like Sheraton, have their version of frequent flyer miles, but the benefits would take a while to accumulate.
