    End of the Strip Resort

The stay was good. You can see alot of care goes into keeping the casino and restaurants well maintained. The pools are EXCELLENT! Food is EXCELLENT!

Unique Quality: The wave pool is wonderful. Very different from the wave pool we have in Rockford, Illinois.

    Directions: End of the strip.

    Over Priced

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is far from 1st class and should not have the 4 stars it does. Our experience started with no bell/porter service walking in.... the rooms are jankey with ugly decor (bedding and curtains) and worn out carpet. No mini-bar & room service takes 1 plus hours to get there. The once white towels are now grey and they are still using them. The pools are so crowded people are lying on top of each other (get your mind out of the gutter) and the water....uggg... well just think of it after hundreds of sweaty people have jumped in..... gross to smell.... just gross. The service was consistently slow and employees so crabby, they seem just mean, everyone too.... like they were just done with people, from the clerk at the gift shop, to the waitress at our over priced breakfast to the clerk who checked us out... all in a perpetually bad mood. We stayed in a deluxe room and had adjoining rooms to a suite with friends. The suite had a mini-bar but the same ugly towels and ugly service. And we paid how much to stay here and be treated like this? and why?

Unique Quality: Do not ask for anything outside the slam blam way everyone gets it, cuz it won't happen... You want your eggs how? well your getting them the way the cook makes them or not at was characteristic of all 4 restaurants we tried at Mandalay Bay, from the $143 breakfast for 2 at the red wite and blue cafe, to the buffet, to the house of blues and again at the bistro cafe... and all were at least 2 hour meals due to the wait (at the table, not getting in) and we were practically by ourselves at the house of blues......

    The HOTEL

I have only been to this Hotel in Vegas, but I can tell you right now that I would stay in this Hotel every single time I come back. What a magnificent place. All the rooms are Suites, with HDTV even in the bathroom. Loved it !!

    A very nice hotel!
I enjoyed my stay tremendously. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially at the reception.

My sister got married here and the wedding planning staff were top notch.

Unique Quality: The rooms were comfortable and there were lots of restaurants and shops. I also like the connections to the main part of the strip.

The shark reef aquarium and the 'beach' add another dimension to this resort.

    Best Hotels in Las Vegas

I definitely recommend this as a fabulous hotel resort & casino. It's a fun and lively hotel, with great service and a variety of excellent, gourmet restaurants.

Unique Quality: Mandalay Bay has the best pool in Las Vegas. Among the six pools onsite, there is a wave pool that creates a five foot wave every four minutes or so, that you can body surf. They also have a lazy river pool where you can float in a tube, around and around for hours, passing under a waterfall. They created a sand beach along the major pools, and the entire environment is fun, with great music and bars.

    The Best in Town

My favorite resort in Vegas to date. The Bay does an excellent job of maintaining first class amenities and entertainment without throwing it in your face. No crazy theme party, no roller coasters running through the lobby. Simple and first class ?cool? with a huge number of entertainment destinations on the grounds that give you a stellar selection of environments to chose from.

  • Nice hotel, time to redecorate rooms?

I really like Mandalay Bay. So much so, I recently got married there. The chapel is great and they did a wonderful job from flowers to photos. However, since you are probably aren't here for that info. (and if you are...try to find out about all the places to be married in the USA) on to the rooms.

Mandalay Bay put us up in the "honeymoon suite". It wasn't all that. The view was terrible. We basically could only see roof. To make matters worse, the couch in this suite was DISGUSTING. It had so many stains on it, I couldn't count them. i am not exaggerating, people. If you had this in your house, you would cut your losses and set it out on the curb for bums to sleep on. (Or...maybe that is where they got it.)

So, I called the front desk and they said, "All our honeymoon suites have crap views. It is how the hotel is designed." Um, okay that is lame. They let me switch rooms though due to the offending couch. The room was larger than the standard room and it had a wet bar. That is the only thing I could notice to differentiate it from a regular room at the 'Bay.

I think the rooms could use some jazzing up at the price they are charging for them and considering they aren't exactly centrally located on the strip. I will probably stay somewhere else next time I go to Vegas. If money is no object, I really like Venetian and am anxious to check out the Wynn.

Unique Quality: The pool is area is very cool. There are several pools including a wave pool (but not your water park-type. The waves are much too tame. You can't even do any serious kid-bowling in there and they won't let you take in intertubes.)
The shark reef is very cool if you dig aquariums.

Directions: At the south end of the strip near Excalibur

Ultra Hip - Perfect for the young crowd

This is an ultra sleek, hip, and modern decor hotel. We were a group of 4 girls in their 20's and we loved this place. We saw a lot of beautiful people. The staff is very friendly and we always had prompt room service. We would stay here again.

3 plasma tvs. 1.5 bathrooms. One full master bathroom with a super large tub, shower, and two sinks. The half bath has one sink and one toilet. Great for a bunch of girls trying to get ready. The internet connection here is SUPER fast, I have never seen such a fast connection, even at work.

Check out the foudation room club. Great views.

    $35 dining credit. Yum!

This is a LABYRINTH. This hotel has so many turns and twists it is very easy to get lost. There are THREE hotels joined in this building. Asking staff where "thehotel" is will get you multiple answers since "the hotel" can mean up to three establishments. I want to kick whoever's idea it was to call this place "thehotel". Cab drivers are confused and so are staff. Pretentious marketers.

I asked for two queen beds. Once I got there they said it was not guaranteed. wtf. That is unacceptable. First night we slept in a king size bed becuase they were out of queen beds. However, they agreed to upgrade us to a bigger suite and gave us a queen size bed for the rest of the trip.

Unique Quality: The Pool is spectacular. I love it. Best pool I have seen so far. It has a wave pool and a "beach". There is no sand in the pool. Great pina Coladas.

DO NOT bring a hairdryer! They have a big bastard one that can handle you.

Directions: Most southern on the strip, by MGM and Luxor.

A little far from the actions on the strip

It's another flashy hotel in Vegas. The rooms and bathrooms are sizeable and comfortable. Mama Mia is a broadway show based on all Abba songs play here. There is a shark aquarium in the complex, but you have to pay entrance fee. The pool has artificial waves and fake beach. You need to present a room key to gain entry into the pool area.

Unique Quality: Fake beach and artificial waves

A Jewel in the Nevada Desert

I really enjoyed the time I spent at Mandalay Bay. This place is, in my opinion, one of the top Casino Resorts in Las Vegas. Though a bit open, I loved the casino in here, as well as the overall layout and decoration. The shows here are top notch, as well as the dining, and the nightlife is very nice... the Rum Junglewas very fun. I'd recommend this spot to anyone coming to Vegas, and the only drawback, although a large one, is its location... it is on the extreme southern tip of the Las Vegas strip, so you'll have to walk quite a distance, even to the monorail.

Unique Quality: The Mamma Mia! show was very nice, and what other hotel here has a House of Blues inside?

Directions: Extreme Southern end of the strip

    A nice place to stay

Mandalay Bay is near one end of the strip (i call it the top end, next to the Luxor). It is one of my preferred places to stay. The rooms are large and tastefully fitted out. Not the cheapest, but is very comfortable.

The complex has some great restaurants - Aureole (but book for this place), 3995, Red Square are a few and a great sushi bar.

Rum Jungle is a good place to meet for a drink and a night out.

The pool area is enjoyable - apart from the crowds on the weekend (but that is Vegas).

The Hotel is also part of this complex, but as yet, i have not stayed there

    The Mandy Bay

Mandalay Bay is a trendy hip hotel at the south end of the strip next to the Luxor. Beautiful rich people all around. Try o fit in ;)

Unique Quality: Wow. Nice beach! It boasts the most unique pool area in Vegas. Must be all that sand in there. No fence jumping here. Bring your key (to prove you're staying there). It keeps the riff raff out. Is that good?

    Directions: South strip

  • How Sweet it is

This is a very nice hotel. We had our convention here. The bathroom had a seperate tub and shower. The only complaint I have is that the pool was closed when we were there. Our room was paid for by the company, so I don't know how much the rooms go for.

Unique Quality: Asian theme. Several restaurants to choose from.

Directions: South on the strip not far from the airport

    Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay is great! The rooms were spacious and had luxurious bathrooms even in the standard rooms. It's right on the strip and has good clubs and restaurants inside.

Unique Quality: The wave pool is a lot of fun. There is also an over-21 pool, which you have to pay to get in to. It has a swankier ambience but is not for the squeamish or easily offended.

    Directions: Las Vegas strip

Mandalay Bay or The Hotel?

by lemonpie

Cannot decide which one to select. I will be getting a suite and need to pick one. Has anyone ever stayed at both and favor one over the other. I am looking for elegant and classy. HELP! :)

RE: Mandalay Bay or The Hotel?

Mandalays suites are Executive suites. No door to bedroom. The Hotel is fine, I have a client that thinks there is an off odor in the place though. You may want to check the Four Seasons, the top 5 floors of Mandalay Bay

RE: Mandalay Bay or The Hotel?

Having recently stayed at THEHotel i can say for sure it is exactly what your looking for.

Thank you! I am actually having a few friends in for a very small champagne reception in the suite prior to going out to dinner. I think this was a good choice. :)
