More about Westgate Flamingo Bay

Loved the Westgate

by A TripAdvisor Member

We took our parents to the Westgate Flamingo Bay for their 50th wedding anniversary. We were apprehensive after reading the bad reviews. We requested a room on the lower level because of their ages. The rooms were clean and spacious. The service was helpful and wonderful. We were on the front, but didn't hear noise or traffic. It's down the street from the Rio and the Palms. We would recommend the Westgate to anyone!

Great choice!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

My husband & I just returned from a Vegas vacation. This was our 6th trip to Vegas and we had never stayed off the strip before. We decided to try something different since we would be meeting other family members and wanted more room. The Westgate Flamingo Bay was awesome!! Check in was a breeze and we were more than pleased with our accomodations. We had a 2 bedroom - 2 bath unit. The giant whirlpool tub was wonderful! The unit was clean and had plenty of room for the 3 of us. The staff was very pleasant. We would definately stay again and recommend it to others.

stop complaining!!!

It has really annoyed me to see the bad reviews that certain people have given of westgate flamingo bay.
We own 2 weeks a year with them and stay with them every year problem free. As well as this one we have stayed at the Lakes, Vacation Villas and Miami Beach in Florida and Park city Utah and every time the villas were extremely clean and luxurious.
The Flamingo Bay resort is a refreshing change to the rest of LV as it is a quiet gated community away from the strip (we had a g. floor villa near the entrance and heard no traffic noise) the apartments all have leather furniture, big tv's and fireplaces and the pool and hot tub were still open in December.
Overall we have never had a bad experience with them for 6 years and always have a great vacation!

Beautiful and Excellent

by TripAdvisor Member 8675309.1

This place was very excellent and luxurious. It's great for the whole family. The complanits here are fake. The resort is clean and casino free. It's safe for the whole family. It has free shuttles to the vegas strip. It's rooms are very nice and big. It has a 2 bderoom villa fit for about 12 people. The leather sofa is soft, it's floors are clean, the kitchen is spotless and has marble tables. It even has a jacuzzi and a patio. Any hotel in the Vegas Strip can not beat that. This is the BEST choice to stay while in Las Vegas. I assure you that 100%.

Beautiful Resort ... Lousy Staff

by A TripAdvisor Member

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this resort. The check in was fast and fairly simple. The 2 bedroom condo was beautifully decortated and clean. We did have a unit that was facing the main road and the traffic could be seen & heard day and night. Our biggest complaint was with the services and the staff attitudes. When they say a free shuttle to the strip they mean a passenger van that seats about 10-12 and leaves every hour starting at 6pm. If you are unlucky enough not to get a seat you must wait an hour for the next one or as the staff told the group of us left behind .... take the bus. This despite the fact that there was 2 rather large sized mini buses sitting in the parking lot with drivers waiting to give tours to non existent people. The same buses that blocked us in our parking spaces day and night with drivers with attitudes when you asked them to move when you wanted to pull out. Then there was the maid banging on the door at 9 am on a Sunday morning to clean the room. This was not the day we were checking out and when we explained to her that we would be leaving the room in about an hour or so her response rather nastily was "I don't have time for this I have alot of rooms to clean." Overall the resort is very nice and it is good to be away from the crowds and traffic of the strip but they really ought to give thier staff a course on customer service.

Ideal stay in Vegas

by TripAdvisor Member moo_bear

Beautifully furnished, extremely spacious and very comfortable accommodation, which we would find difficult to fault in any way. We had a hire car, so did not need to use the shuttle bus, so cannot comment there - except to say that we spotted a Westgate bus several times, while we were on the Strip. It was wonderful to return from the hectic Strip, to the blissful peace (we heard no traffic) and security of the Flamingo Bay. Oh, we did have a couple of tiny arthropod visitors - but it was hardly an infestation and, although they're not the most beautiful or welcome of creatures - the alternative of breathing in the fumes of insecticide would be the greater evil, imho!! If we return to Vegas, we will stay here again, without doubt.

Sister weekend 2004

This is a beautiful resort!! My sisters and I had a fantastic time and loved everything about this resort. The rooms are very beautiful and comfortable for 5 adults. The staff was great. We felt welcome the entire time we were there. Thanks again for a wonder Vacation.

can't wait to go back

by A TripAdvisor Member

We spent four nights at Flamingo Bay last year and can't wait to go back this year. We have already made our reservations for Febuary. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and extremly comfortable. just minutes from the strip, but quiet and serene. Check In is fast and easy, and you don't have to drag your luggage through a hotel. We have recomended Flamingo Bay to many of our friends.

Beware!

by A TripAdvisor Member

I actually liked the accomodations. It is a very cozy, contemporay condo. But- Beware!!!! There are wild animals lurking the campus. We had the 2 bedroom located upstairs. Picture this. The condos are made like individual entry apartments. You have to to into a main gate that leads to the condo downstairs and you go up the stairs to the condo above. Well! My nephew left a peanut butter & jelly sandwich on the table in the living room opting to eat pizza instead before going to bed. When we woke up, the sandwich was in crumbles on the floor leaving trails across the livingroom to the front door! We called security. They noticed that our door had to be slammed in order to properly shut and lock! Something, and only God knows what it was, came into our condo and ate that Sandwich! Other than being scared to death to sleep at night, we enjoyed our stay. We love the Orlando Westgate Lakes as well.

Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort

We have reservations for Westgate Flamingo Bay in the near future. Was wondering if anyone has stayed there and what they thought of the accomadations. I have read a few unfavorable reviews. Please let me know what you thought. Thanks!!

It's a cheaply-built-looking apt complex about a mile from anything else but other apartment buildings. You would need a car to get to the Las Vegas Strip or would be relying on the citybus.

From the outside it looks pretty new and clean, but i haven't seen the units.

behind The Flamingo, supposed to be nice. very convenient at Four Corners, near monorail at Flamingo. Decent liquor store across from Bally's. Fun, cheap but average Ital food at Battista's Hole in the Wall across from Bally's behind Barbary. Better food at low-key locals' joint Ellis Island a block east behind Bally's. Find the back ways into Imperial Palace to save walking distance.

No, it's not behind the Flamingo, that's the Summer Bay Resort.

Westgate is 3 miles west of the Strip in a semi-residential area about 2 miles past the Rio and the Palms. You'll need a car if they don't have a shuttle bus.

We just got back from Las Vegas after spending 2 weeks at Westgate Resorts. We had a two bedroom unit with a washer and dryer. We had lots of room, the resort itself is very pretty with a pool and spa. There is a shuttle that takes you back and forth to and from the strip from 10:00am to 1:00am. The shuttle will also take you grocery shopping on Monday and Thursday from 8:30am till 10:30am. We never used the shuttle, but our kids did and never had a problem.
