saying good bye to an old friend

I've stayed here for 34 years. The deterioration, following the bandruptcy of it's owners, Stations Casinos, is unfortunate. The air conditioners do not cool the rooms and the maintenance says they are sorry but there is nothing they can do. The Dennys restaurant that replace the Wild Wild West is a complete ripoff. High prices for miniscule portions. The bar has no blenders and cannot serve a blended margarita, pina colada, or daquiri. Superficial repairs are taking place, but the bottom line is that the rooms are unlivable during hot days as a result of the settings of the air conditioners.

Unique Quality: This place used to be great. Friendly staff, excellent service, and tremendous value for the money. No more.

The Old Stand By

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The rooms are typical semi-clean motel rooms. The place is not perfectly quiet, but not problematic. Their is a sort of scumy pool which I've never seen in use.

Unique Quality: The great thing about the motel is its odd ability to always have a room. This is where I go when everything else is full. In addition to being available, it isn't expensive. The motel knows when it is high season, but rooms are rarely more than $40 or $50 a night. All of that and it is ten to fifteen minute walk to the strip. If you don't feel like walking it does have a full casino (black jack, sports book, crap, and of course slots). The casino has some of the lowest minimums I've seen in town, so it is good place to learn. The place is cheap in every sense of the word.

We were in the Wild Wild West...

We were in the Wild Wild West hotel. That was the cheapest. Nice place and if you want you can gambling too. This place is 35$ room/night. If you have time you can use the swimming pool for free and you can get cheap food. They have cable tv too.

I like the 50's roadside motel type hotels. it reminds me of family vacations as a kid.
It is a cab ride to the strip. I guess you could walk or take a bus (if one is in the area).
This will be nothing special, thin towels and possibly stained bathtubs. There may be long term tenants and local workers but it may be travelling salesman as well.
You should look at The Imperial Palace or www.vegas.com

Wil WIld West is one of the older places to stay in Vegas. I know they have a lot of parking space available for semi-trucks. Is this part of a package deal? I would recommend somewhere else to stay. WWW is fairly far from the strip. Maybe a couple minute cab ride to the far south end of the strip but a wlk is not something I would suggest.

Hey, you're still in Las Vegas and you can visit all day and night any hotel for food, drinks, shows, gambling, and you name it. Look for yourself at the WWW Hotel and how far to the Big Strip Resorts, by going to the website: www.vegas.com/map.html
You can also get a photo of the Wild, Wild, West Hotel/Motel by clicking on the hotel section of that webpage. Not as bad as some places in Las Vegas like the Blue Angel Motel. lol Have fun. Viva Las Vegas

A: "West Rim is closer to Las Vegas, but is a huge tourist trap. It isn't actually located inside Grand Canyon National Park. It's a privately run casino / resort type place."
