Review Credit Card Charges!

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 13, 2011

Beware of making a reservation at this hotel using your credit card! You may end up with unexpected and unauthorized charges.

We made a reservation for the weekend of 10/15-17. The confirmation email said we were being billed the first night's stay and would owe that as a penalty if we cancelled after 3:00 pm on 10/13. We cancelled on the morning of 10/13. Instead of receiving a refund, we were billed an additional $240, more than twice the amount we would have paid if we stayed at the hotel!

The hotel staff we spoke to were unapologetic and had an amazingly cavalier attitude about misappropriating someone else's money. Perhaps that's to be expected of a casino.

Nice renovated rooms

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on October 26, 2009

We stayed at a standard room at the Aquarius for just $57 per night and these rooms were newly renovated and just of standard size. There are two towers, the California and Arizona Towers and our room had a nice view of the hotel pool and the tennis courts in between the two towers.

The bathroom is clean and had the free amenities like shampoo, also has the essentials like ironing board and hair dryer. However, our room did not have a refrigerator but it did have a flat screen TV. Another deficiency is the lack of free internet access and I think they charge $11 per day.

The casino has an "okay" brunch buffet for only $10 which has a nice big windows for a good view of the river outside.

Forget the bird; enjoy the new AQUARIUS!!!

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

This hotel/casino has recently had its name changed to "Aquarius"; new owners, and many new machines have added to the quality of the casino and the night-club area.

They offer some of the best 'comfort food' in their buffet - they're generous with coupons once you've stayed with them, and while their rooms aren't the most perfect in the area, they are clean and the atmosphere of the casino is one of fun - while the attendants and personnel are also very hospitable and the gaming is as generous as any on the strip (and we've stayed at all of them as well as the Avi Resort).

Enjoy the wine; beer - the wonderful meals at the buffet; the night-club has great acts for about $16 per person, and there are plenty of live game tables as well as machines to keep you enjoying yourself for a few days at least. They have a great view of the river; the rooms facing the river are great, and while parking is a bit restrictive, overall, it's one of the best places you can stay to have a really good time.

Unique Quality: An excellent assortment of food; entertainment, and view of the Colorado River.

Flamingo Laughlin

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 23, 2006

I will not recommend the Flamingo Laughlin to anyone, anymore. We have been staying there for several years, being comped for everything. Now the place has been bought out, I think the new name is the Aquarius. Well, we called for reservations and were told that we could have a 10% on our room, plus there is now a resort fee of $3.00. We are done with the Flamingo. We will not eat, play, gamble or stay there, ever again.

We made reservations at the Golden Nugget, our first stay there.

Bye Bye Flamingo

Unique Quality: NONE

Directions: Don't go there.

The second best place to stay in Laughlin :)

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 9, 2005

According to Joyce, the Flamingo is the 2nd best stay in Laughlin, with the added perk that it is right smack in the middle of casino row :) During our stay, there was even a sold out Olivia Newton John concert .... though we didn't get to go to the show, we did see her in the mall across the street :)

Decent food and rooms, and a lot of nice river views and of course I love friendly staff. Their immediate lobby is quite patriotic, with US flags, as well as flags of other countries - a nice display ... but doesn't fit the rest of the decor .....

They also have a comedy club off the casino floor that I've heard is pretty good - but I haven't gone to a show there ..... yet.
