Golden Nugget Laughlin
2300 S Casino Dr, Laughlin, Nevada, 89028-7111, United States
Comfortable, Convenient and Clean!
Our weekend stay was exceedingly comfortable and I am very happy that we opted to stay in The Golden Nugget. It is one of the smaller hotels in Laughlin and not quite so bustling as some of the others we visited during our stay. Not once did we have a line up to eat, play, shop, or check-in or check-out. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The pillows were small but there were lots of them so it did not create an issue. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The lobby is inviting with its lush green gardens and running stream. The location, right across the street from a karaoke bar was perfect. Prior to retiring for the night, we had a great deal of fun sitting out front of the hotel and listening to the sometimes struggling (or maybe more appropriately, strangling) vocals ring out from the karaoke bar. They played the music outside as well as inside. It was also pleasant to sit out back and enjoy the beautiful view of the Colorado River and stroll along the River Walk.
We only ate a couple of meals at Harlow's in the Golden Nugget and did not try any of the other restaurants. The food at Harlow's was good, plentiful and not unreasonable ($7 US for breakfast) but we did find better deals on meals elsewhere. The Colorado Belle, for example, had an awesome steak dinner special that included a 16oz T-bone, baked potato, large salad, and 16oz draft for only $13 US and a $4.99 US breakfast buffet.
We personally intend to stay at this hotel should we again return to Laughlin because we like the pace - it is smaller and a little less crowded than some of the other hotels.
Unique Quality: Ample covered parking attached to the hotel so there is no need to walk any distance from hotel to car.
Very cute, thatch roofed cabanas available for rent at the outside pool.
Easy access to the Water Taxi that will ferry you from casino to casino along the Colorado. (Down the escalator in the casino and out the back)
Live musical entertainment in the lounge; although not elaborate a show as some of the other casinos, the lone saxophone player/singer on stage during our visit was a joy to listen to and if you like to dance, there was plenty of room.
Honestly, I have never seen tile floors shine like they do in this hotel. Sparkling clean!
would recommend this hotel to anyone had a fab time here in may 09. staff were fab could not do enough for you. saltgrass steakhouse down stairs was excellent recommend the pork chops. a long flight from doncaster england but what a place.
Unique Quality: recommend the river view rooms they were great. clean and spacious, nice pool overlooking the river and a good walkway along the river you can get to all the hotels nice on a night. see you next year golden nugget what a holiday.
Nice Little Hotel
I come to Laughlin, NV once a month for business and I have stayed at all of the hotels on Casino Dr. I personally like the Golden Nugget the best because although it is a little older, it is cozy and has 2 good restaurants. (Saltgrass Steakhouse, Joe's Crab shack) and a starbucks. The casino is small to medium size for a Laughlin casino, but they have low minimums ($3 Roulette Min.) The rooms are a little better than Harrah's (which I feel is the 2nd best on the Laughlin strip). The parking garage is close to the elevators and I've never really had anything to complain about. The Harrah's bad points are the long check-in lines and long elevator lines.
Unique Quality: Good River View, Spacious bathrooms, low Min. casinos, Starbucks, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Joe's Crab shack
Directions: Laughlin Casino Strip on the Colorado River
A jewel of a casino ....
Joyce didnt' have much to say about the Golden Nuggett, but we did spend time wandering about and hitting the tables for a short bit :)
They have a decent parking garage, but extremely limited van accessible handicapped parking.
Though we didn't loose at the tables, we didn't exactly win either :) They gladly took our chips from neighboring casinos, so we didn't have to add more cash to our pot. Our dealers were friendly, helpful and fun - yes fun .. as was the pit boss on duty :) We were there for only an hour and a half - so really can't judge the overall casino from that short of a visit but, compared to some other tables ...... definitely worth a stop :)
Unique Quality: They have 2 small waterfalls in the entry, surrounded by greenery. This leads into the casino. We wandered about, and took time to look into a couple of shops, and to enjoy the free animatronic show ...... a variety of fake macaws in a golden cage who sing the blues ... definetly cute! Across from the birds is a $10 store w/ watches, purses, shawls/wraps, and other items .... nice enough that I even bought a few things while there .... :)
The Golden Nugget
My favorite place to stay and one of the nicer hotels/casinos. Decorated in a tropical theme, the entrance has a tropical atrium emulating a rainforest (not all plants are real though).
Weekdays $25 per night
Weekends $55 per night
Unique Quality: Cocktail service was great while gambling. No watered down drinks and fast, efficient service. I am not much of a drinker but my friend had one too many white russians.
There are 4 restaurants and an ice cream parlor.

Average nights stay is around $30 to $60, depending on whether it is during the weekdays or on the weekend. The
rooms are usually reasonable because they determine you'll
spend your money at their gaming tables! Buffets are really
cheap and offer a large variety, and every hotel has one!

Hidden Jewel in Laughlin
The Golden Nugget in Laughlin, NV might get over looked amongst the other hotels in busy Laughlin, but it shouldn't be forgotten. Located along the busy Riverwalk on the Colorado River the hotel provides at great location along with very comfortable rooms at reasonable prices. The room was well maintained and the service throughout the hotel/casino very good. An over-all great stay on a busy Thanksgiving Day weekend!
Jane's Grill dining
My husband and I had dinner at Jane's Grill at the Nugget in Laughlin on Tuesday, December 28th. We were seated at a table for two in the smoking section next to the open kitchen area where the chef and waitresses cook and pickup food. The profanity used by the chef and the waitresses were words that should not have been heard by the customers. It was not a pleasant experience.
Excellent value for money !
We stayed here for one night on route from The South Rim Grand Canyon to Las
Vegas. The town was nothing more than hotels for gambling alongside the river.
This hotel was easy to find, had plentiful parking. The hotel had wonderful air
conditioning which given the hot humid air was great. The hotel room was
extremely well appointed with a large plush bathroom.
We ate at one of the restaurants near the lobby and had a great salad. The staff
were friendly here too.
Extremely good value place to stay!
You Can't Go Wrong
We have stayed at the Golden Nugget twice, and everything was great for the price. The slots are relatively loose; the rooms are clean; the staff is friendly and helpful (special thanks to Steve Jenkens).
The drinks are generously comped. We saved a fortune on drinks alone. The restaurants are fair, but remember what you paid for your room, and you can forgive the mediocrity of the food. Also you can always go somewhere else for your meals.
I'll never stay anywhere else.
In all the 13 years that I have been going to Laughlin, I hadn't considered the Nugget and I really don't know why. I guess it's because I kept getting offers from other casinos. I can tell you right now that I don't care what kind of offers I get from the others, I will stay at the Golden Nugget. Check in was easy and quick, the staff was attentive and friendly, the rooms were nice with a wonderful big bathroom stocked with plenty of towels. The restaurants had a great variety and were very reasonable and organized. We used the valet parking and the bell service. Both were friendly and timely. Take my word for it.. The Golden Nugget is well worth the $29.oo. Thanks, Nugget. We look forward to staying with you again!
