    Joyce didnt' have much to say about the Golden Nuggett, but we did spend time wandering about and hitting the tables for a short bit :)

    They have a decent parking garage, but extremely limited van accessible handicapped parking.

    Though we didn't loose at the tables, we didn't exactly win either :) They gladly took our chips from neighboring casinos, so we didn't have to add more cash to our pot. Our dealers were friendly, helpful and fun - yes fun .. as was the pit boss on duty :) We were there for only an hour and a half - so really can't judge the overall casino from that short of a visit but, compared to some other tables ...... definitely worth a stop :)

    They have 2 small waterfalls in the entry, surrounded by greenery. This leads into the casino. We wandered about, and took time to look into a couple of shops, and to enjoy the free animatronic show ...... a variety of fake macaws in a golden cage who sing the blues ... definetly cute! Across from the birds is a $10 store w/ watches, purses, shawls/wraps, and other items .... nice enough that I even bought a few things while there .... :)

    My favorite place to stay and one of the nicer hotels/casinos. Decorated in a tropical theme, the entrance has a tropical atrium emulating a rainforest (not all plants are real though).

    Weekdays $25 per night

    Weekends $55 per night

    Cocktail service was great while gambling. No watered down drinks and fast, efficient service. I am not much of a drinker but my friend had one too many white russians.
    There are 4 restaurants and an ice cream parlor.

    • I come to Laughlin, NV once a month for business and I have stayed at all of the hotels on Casino Dr. I personally like the Golden Nugget the best because although it is a little older, it is cozy and has 2 good restaurants. (Saltgrass Steakhouse, Joe's Crab shack) and a starbucks. The casino is small to medium size for a Laughlin casino, but they have low minimums ($3 Roulette Min.) The rooms are a little better than Harrah's (which I feel is the 2nd best on the Laughlin strip). The parking garage is close to the elevators and I've never really had anything to complain about. The Harrah's bad points are the long check-in lines and long elevator lines.

    • would recommend this hotel to anyone had a fab time here in may 09. staff were fab could not do enough for you. saltgrass steakhouse down stairs was excellent recommend the pork chops. a long flight from doncaster england but what a place.

    recommend the river view rooms they were great. clean and spacious, nice pool overlooking the river and a good walkway along the river you can get to all the hotels nice on a night. see you next year golden nugget what a holiday.
