Mount Charleston Hotel: Mount Charleston Hotel

This place is actually more of a lodge than a hotel, with its wood beamed ceilings, lobby fireplace and somewhat rustic atmosphere. But its one of the few options on the mountain and the place to stay if you're looking for a full service establishment.

The hotel had recently changed ovnership when I visited and the restaurant was overbooked for Thanksgiving dinner, so things were a little harried. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating and provided top notch service to hordes of harried travelers and hungry patrons. Thumbs up to them.

The rooms are pretty standard issue, with a fair price considering the location. I wouldn't recommend a room with a balcony though, as its more of a tiny wooden square that didn't appear all that stable when I stepped on it. It wasn't worth the extra $$.

One more word of advice. The hotel does not have an elevator. Keep that in mind when booking a room if you do not wish to be climbing stairs or are unable to do so.

Its location is pretty unique. There are a couple of places on the mountain, but choices are slim. There's a full service restaurant, a full service bar, and an outdoor wedding area. Some rooms have what are called balconies as well.

Mount Charleston Hotel: Mount Charleston Hotel, continued

As you can see from the picture, the room has a rustic appearance with its slanted ceiling and earth tone decor. It was a pretty cozy and comfortable place to stay, with the exception of climbing 3 flights of stairs with luggage, and the views were pretty incredible as well.
