Downtown's Best Bet

When reading the reviews for lodging in the area, the Eldorado consistently ranks near the top in value. It is centrally located in the downtown area and has a large parking garage for self-park folks like myself. On a Thursday evening, there was nobody in line at the front desk. Despite this, they had run out of rooms, and needed to upgrade me to a Spa Suite at no charge. I had no complaints with this turn of events. I got to the room, which was huge, with a jacuzzi tub, large king size bed, bar area, and ample space for cleaning up. The room also has a safe, which is always helpful. The room itself was very quiet and clean. Onsite, there are a number of dining options (I can't personally vouch for them, as I ate elsewhere) as well as a gift shop for snacks. The casino is very good sized, and has all you would expect. You do need to validate parking via a room key, purchase on site, or a slot club card, so have one of the three before you take off. Everyone was very friendly, and I was very happy with this choice.

Classy and comfortable

The Eldorado is my choice for accommodations on any future trips to Reno. The room was clean, comfortable and right-sized with a small, but adequate, sitting area. It also had a convenient safe for valuables.

Staff at the hotel were helpful and attentive. Any question I had was promptly answered, and when an individual could not answer my question, he or she immediately sought assistance from someone else.

The location of the Eldorado could not have been better. It is connected via walkway to the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus, and is within a short walk to other casinos. From our room window on the 24th floor, we could see the lighted "RENO" sign, the distant mountains, and the hot air balloons from the early morning hot air balloon race that occurred the weekend I was there.

About a week after we stayed at the Eldorado, we received a phone call from them asking to rate our experience at their hotel and casino. This demonstrated to me their interest in providing quality customer service.

Unique Quality: Great downtown location.

Loved it!

Before booking I checked out other VT recommendations and decided on the Eldorado. Internet booking was fast and easy. Check-in was supposed to be 3:00pm but my room was ready about a 1/2 hour after I arrived just after 1:00 so was checked in, unpacked, and settled in by 2:00. When it came to checking out I was also given a couple hours leeway because my plane didn't leave until late afternoon. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I booked a luxury king room and it was great - large and clean with everything that I needed.

Because the Eldorado is connected to the Silver Legacy and Circus Circus there is an abundance of bars and restaraunts to choose from some better than others and some MUCH more expensive than others depending on what you're looking for. You can charge all your meals and drinks from The Silver Legacy to your Eldorado room which makes it very convenient. The gaming/casino areas are large but not overwhelming and the whole complex is fun to walk around.

Unique Quality: I stayed on the 24th floor and the view of the mountains by day and the lights by night was great. The Eldorado only has an outdoor pool which was obviously closed in February but I doubt that I would have used it anyway.

The in-room safe was very helpful. I kept all my cash locked up except for what I was prepared to spend that day! Saved me going overboard on my gambling.

Shining Lights

I lost $20 warming up after the fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Unique Quality: I've heard it's just fine as a place to stay. But, living here I haven't ever used the hotel portion of their business. I just put the picture up because I thought it was pretty.

Downtown Reno's Old Classic Revised

This is an older hotel in downtown Reno but it is a real classy place. Not only are the rooms always clean and comfy but the staff is exceptional. Several very nice places to eat and a large casino make this a place you never have to leave. Some great shows can be found in thier Eldorado Showroom and discount tickets can be won if you play in thier Treasures of the Eldorado game they have. See Casino for details or check out the website.
If you want to hear some live music just hang out down in the east end of the casino floor near the Stadium Bar and Sportsbook.

Unique Quality: Ask for a higher floor in the Skytower. You can get a great view if you just ask. The Sierra Mountains are lovely. They do have a small pool and hot tub that is open in the warmer monthes. There is an arcade for the kids and a casino for the adults.(Big Kids)

Great Place to Stay!

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is the third time I have stayed at the Eldorado. For my husband and I, it is an excellent quick getaway from our busy work schedule. The room was had just been upgraded, the staff was friendly, the food was excellent. I highly reccomend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in downtown Reno.

A Tower Spa Suite is a Must!

by TripAdvisor Member omadrid

Had a great King Tower Spa Suite at the El Dorado, while enjoying the spa it felt like you are on top of the world with the beautiful views from just about every angle in the room. In addition, the service and the restaurants were great and it seemed a little more low key or "quieter" than the adjoining Silver Legacy and Circus Circus. The El Dorado has a definite European flair to it which we loved. The only thing more I would add to the room is a nice CD player and coffee maker. The morning line for coffee downstairs in the hotel are long so be prepared for that. Thanks tripadvisor for steering me in the right direction.

Beautiful room

by TripAdvisor Member ValMar1

Just returned from a 1 night stay. Be warned when booking a room that's $59.00 or less on the weekend. You will end up in a room that has not been renovated since the 1980's. I booked a room for $59.00 on the web, then I read the reviews here and called the El Dorado. They said that rate was for the older rooms, and if I wanted a renovated room it would be $30.00 more. I agreed to pay the $30.00. When we arrived they must have over booked the regular renovated rooms, because they gave us a spa suite instead. The room was beautiful! My son got a big kick out of the pop up TV and the remote control curtain LOL. We were all quite impressed. I'm glad I decided to read the reviews here, since I would have been very upset in an old run down room. The only complaint I have here is with the casino. After playing the slots for hours and hours ( and losing) we were never asked once if we wanted a cocktail.

We loved the Eldorado and Artown

by TripAdvisor Member BPBFL

We stayed for two nights in July. The price was great, and the basic room was quite comfortable. the parking garage was convenient, security was good, the common areas are nice and the breakfast buffet was great. We booked the room on the Eldorado website. They matched a lower rate we found on another website and threw in a voucher for breakfast. We were pleasantly suprised with Reno. In July, Reno is Artown and we saw a play and went to a great outdoor concert. Thanks, TripAdvisor for a great recommendation.
