"Tahoe Casinos (and Beyond)"
While in Reno, I decided to take a day to circle the Nevada side of Tahoe and check out some of the casinos. While I stopped at a few in Incline Village along the north side, the "heart" of this area is Stateline - where there are 5 major gambling establishments along the highway. All except Lakeside Inn are fairly sizable and will remind you of Vegas or Reno casinos, other than the fact that while there, the casinos were very, very quiet. Being April, I'm thinking I may have been there out of season.
But the real treat here is the ride into town, where you will have ample opportunities to get out and view the beautiful lake (and get a breath of fresh air.)
My main highlight outside of the mountains was stopping for lunch at the Latin Soul restaurant in the basement of the Lakeside Inn - be sure to check out my tip on that for my opinions on their offerings!
