This is the kind of place that best suits the term "Don't judge a book by its cover". If you're in good shape then the mountains in this area are the place to go. They're rough and rugged and always worth the effort. You just never know what you're going to find. Many of the mountains in the Humbolt Range have never been traveled by human-foot so you never really know if you're the first one there or not. There are a lot of wild herbs, eatible plants, wildlife, little streams that aren't on any map, most often you have to cut your own trail just to go look at something. If you take a look up every now and then you will most likely see an Eagle or Hawk flyin' above watching you and wonderin', 'What the heck is this human doing so far out here?' The best part about this kind of adventure is staying out there for a couple of days, enjoying the night sky and listening to the coyotes sing their songs. If you're looking for an adventure no one else has had before you then this is the place to do it. The quiet here is so deep and peaceful. That's why in the desert - No one can hear you scream.
