Typical Ski Condo

The Cold Springs Resort isn't bad at all. Two bedroom units have washers and dryers, for instance, which really comes in handy when there's enough snow to ski on -- unfortunately, the Winter of 2007 seems not to have arrived as of mid-January! Our unit had a king-sized bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds, two baths, a comfortable living room with FP, nice kitchen/dining area, and a screened porch which we didn't use because it wasn't THAT warm. There is a nice clubhouse with two pools, a fitness center (somewhat dated), Internet access, game room, ping-pong and pool tables, and a lending library of DVDs and VCR tapes. You have to drive three miles to central Ashland to get coffee, and the supermarket is even further away, but you're close to skiing, the Lakes District, etc.

Unique Quality: This was a fairly typical condo rental place. We got it through SkyAuction.com and I really don't know the standard rental rate.

Comfy diner with good food, plain and simple

This little diner is in Plymouth, which is only a minute or two from the Cold Spring Resort, where we stayed in Ashland. Classic diner with fun signs on the walls, stools at the counter for fast service...and a fabulous Reuben sandwich! Corned beef was lush. Give it a try if you are in the area....and many thanks to ElaineCatherine of VT for the tip!
