"Hey dad what kinda deer is that".... "that ain't no deer, that's a darn moose".
That kind of summarizes the great type of experience we had at this backwoods (yet still near route 302) camp grounds. No pre-gridded campsites just wherever; no electric; relieve yourself in the woods beind the tent because the "facilities" were a 100 yards down the trail. Squirrels, chipmunks during the day; bats and racoons during the pitchblack night; and that dang moose (which we carefully did not bother). In 1981 this was one of the best days for getting the kids back to nature.
The campgrounds have greatly improved I see from their website so we will not be able to ever get that same feeling again (ahhh, it's just as well; my arthritis would be the death of me out in those woods nowadays)
