More about Stonybrook Motel & Lodge
A definite must-visit-again!
The views were fantastic, the innkeepers were very friendly, and the room was comfortable! My mother and I stayed in the lodge room, and had a wonderful time. We would definitely recommend the Stonybrook to anyone heading to the area.
We will be back!!!!!
My daughter and i stayed here in August 2004, we had a great time, loved the trout pond awesome!! We will definately stay there when we come back in November to go to Santa's Village. The management was excellent, the room was super clean!!! We had people who were not staying there allowed to join us at the indoor pool. How great was that. Thanks for a great stay, see you soon!!!!!!
Loved the lodge
My husband and I just recently took a vacation to New Hampshire where we stayed at the Stonybrook Motel and Lodge in Franconia. I suggest that you pay alittle more to stay in the Lodge and you won't be disappointed. The Lodge rooms have a wonderful view of a lovely trout pond and you have the sight of the lovely mountains out of your windows. The owners Tom and Pauline Palmer make you feel right at home and each night they had a fire going in the fireplace for their guests to enjoy in the main seating area of the lodge so other guests could either read a book by the fire or just chat with the other guests. The rooms were always kept clean and comfortable. We wil always remember our trip to Franconia with fond memories.
We stayed in a lodge room for 2 nights at the beginning of October, 2004. The room was excellent with everything we needed. The surrounding area is peaceful and quiet with the trout pond and brook. Littleton was a short drive away and had plenty of places to eat. We found everyone at the Stonybrook to be very friendly and helpful.
Franconia Notch State Park worth a visit, The Flume is worth seeing. We enjoyed the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, views spectacular.
This was our first stay at the Stonybrook Motel & Lodge. We stayed in the Lodge building occupying three of the five rooms. Pulling up to Stonybrook you expected just your run of the mill motel but upon entering you realized you were in for something more. The hotel owners (husband and wife) were extremely friendly and wanted to make sure our stay was wonderful. The lodge rooms were clean and comfortable. The skating pond kept our four kids (well not all are kids) ages 10, 12, 18 and 20 entertained while the adults relaxed after a day of skiing. The common room with the roaring fire place, pool table and big windows overlooking the pond and river was a beautiful setting. The continental breakfast was simple but just to our liking (fresh bagels, english muffins, cereal, oatmeal, coffee and tea). They even had farm fresh hard boiled eggs. The skating pond combined with the indoor pool, pool table and game room kept everyone busy and happy. There was plenty of room to move around and allow everyone space. This was one of our rare vacations where everyone got along (especially the older ones) because of the variety of activities that were offered and the relaxed atmosphere. Only two miles to Cannon for skiing and close to many other points of interest this is someplace that we will definitely return to. It will make a great summer vacation spot also. The rates were fair at $100 a night allowing us to get two rooms so the older two could have there own room. It is not the Ritz (if that is what you are into) but if you want a comforable, clean, affordable place in the Franconia Notch area of New Hampshire I would highly recommend the Stonybrook Motel & Lodge. We will definitely be back.
For family lodging, and away from crowds yet close to 4 seasons mountain adventure, Stonybrook is the bookmark for family travel. Enjoy the mountain lodge with panoramic views of the mountains, ice skate, swim, game room and a wonderful continental breakfast.
Loved the Stonybrook Motel
We rented 4 rooms at the Stonybrook Motel this past weekend. The place was awesome. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and great location. The fireplace area was comfortable and relaxing. The indoor pool was warm and clean. It's very close to ski mountains.
We LOVED it.
Wow!! A must stay.
We had the pleasure, and I mean pleasure, of staying at Tom and Pauline's lodge on April 30. We attended a wedding in the area. They are wonderful people and their lodge is fabulous. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are immaculate. They stay on top of the maintenance and are very cautious about maintaining their non-smoking rooms. It is a family affair with their children even bringing joy to your stay by greeting you in the office. The scenery is serene with an occassional viewing of a neighborhood moose. A river runs through the back of the property with a fishing pond on the property. Great deal for your money and a wonderful way to enjoy Franconia. Do not let this one pass you by. The motel/lodge and the owners are top of line in our opinion. Well worth it.
Stonybrook - great place to stay
Stonybrook proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Our room in the lodge was spacious and very clean. The location was ideal for our visit to Mt. Washington and Flume Gorge. A very nice continental breakfast was offered every morning and we were provided a list of recommended restaurants with detailed instructions on how to get there. Watch out for the moose, however, as we came within inches of hitting one running directly across the road in front of our car on Route 18 about 2 miles from the motel. We loved the babbling brook running through the property and it's laid back environment.
We loved the people that own it and it was very clean.
WE enjoyed our short stay at Stony Brook. Our room was very clean and a good size. The people that own it are just great. WE were given names of restaurants to visit. We were thrilled with the selections. One never knows where to go, but oh boy we would go again to each restaurant. The owners of the motel were so nice and very very natural. WE felt very comfortable and loved New Hampshire, and we think a lot of it was because of our stay. The places we were told to see were beautiful. WE will remember the owners and the town and state for a very long time. Craig and Cheryl Flora
