Courtyard by Marriot: Comfort you can rely on

by Pawtuxet

I find the Courtyard hotels to be comfortable and reasonably priced... always consistant in their quality, comfort, and ammenities.
Most of the time I would prefer to stay in private cabins or cottages, but when that isn't possible, you can always rely on the Courtyard.

Be sure to check rates and compare discounts....there are a variety of them. We found that the Sr. discount was the best but there is AAA, military, and others.

Breakfast is pretty standard...but fresh and varied.

The Seasons, Bartlett

by german_eagle

We found this rental apartment with help of our Boston friends. Their neighbours own this large apartment there and we rented from them. Highly recommended! Nicely furnished, equipped with everything you need it has a large bedroom w/bathroom, balcony, another bathroom, huge living room with sofa(bed) + sitting area, dining area, perfect kitchen and a gallery upstairs with even another sitting area and some more beds. It sleeps up to 8 persons. The owners also provide a lot of information/brochures as well as games for entertainment. Our only disappointment was that we didn't see a bear during our stay:(

About 100 m away was the clubhouse. They offer internet access there for a small fee; use of indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna was free, towels were available for a deposit. They also had billard tables and some one-armed bandits :-) Oh, not to forget a large TV in front of which folks gathered to see the Red Sox or the Yankees.

Highland House: New England's Perfect Bed & Breakfast

by Erin_Loves_Travel

My fiance and I stayed at Highland House in Tamworth, NH for a long weekend and we absolutely loved it. The bed and breakfast has a perfect, cozy, vintage atmosphere - the details of the house are incredible! The breakfast that came with the room was amazing, the grounds of the bed & breakfast were beautiful and the surrounding area is simply gorgeous. We had an amazing time exploring the area with a treat of a bed and breakfast to come home to and relax in. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic and inspiring getaway! We will most definitely be back! In fact, we decided to have our wedding there this fall! We just fell in love with it!

The surrounding area in New Hampshire is gorgeous - a brisk walk to Tamworth town which is a quaint New England town, hiking, climbing, walking the nearby trails etc.
Historic Barnstormers Theatre in Tamworth is just over one mile away.
The breakfasts that come with the rooms are amazing!
The rooms are immaculately clean and fresh.
The owner, Dale, is extremely helpful and welcoming.

Peep-Willow Farm B&B: B&B as it should be

by Ppeter

This B&B became a home away from home for me. It's not a hotel, it's a B&B, with a welcoming host that makes you feel at home and helps you get to know the country. It's non-commercial, meaning it's affordable and comfortable and not too chique. It's real.

Still, the beautiful site on the hillside with marvellous views, the horses, the silence, the roomy living spaces and delicious breakfasts: It's luxurious in its own way. A great base for a New England trip.

A great host. That's the essence. A homelike atmosphere. The best value for money in New England. Just the perfect B&B!

Hampton Falls Inn: So So Accommodations

by agapotravel

Well....if I am being perfectly honest, I have to say the hotel was mediocre, at best. The room was not cleaned on a daily basis (dirty towels left in floor, trash left in trash can, etc.). However, while this is somewhat bothersome, I can look past all of that. The thing that bothered me the most and made me give this accommodation a poor rating was the service. We walked into the lobby, and neither person at the reservations desk acknowledged us. It wasn't like this on just one occasion. It happened at least 5 times....never were we spoken to (unless we asked a question or walked up to the desk.) How rude!

Close to the beach without having to pay astronomical prices...

Anchorge Inn: AT LEAST I SLEPT WELL

by moiraistyx

This past February, Patrick and I drove 4.5 hours to visit with my Uncle Paul. There was already a housefull of people staying at his house, so I opted to check into the motel down the street from him. The room was a basic room with 2 queen size beds, TV, bathroom and table and chairs. It offere a continental breakfast, which consisted of muffins, cereal toast, apples, bannanna, coffee, tea, cocoa, milk and orange juice. I slept fine until about 4 AM at which time I woke up freezing, not because Patrick stole all the blankets, but because I could turn the heat above 65, I think the thermostat was broken. When we got up I took a shower than Patrick took a bath. This was a mistake, when he was finished the drain plug handle broke and I couldn't get the tub to drain. The TV was placed in such a place that you couldn't view it from the second bed and the remote broke. I paid $75 for the night, this included all taxes and fees.

This hotel allows pets.

The Wilderness Inn: Cosy Bed & Breakfast

by Helga67

We had a great stay in this cosy B&B. It is located on the west side of the White Mountains near Franconia Notch State Park and the Kancamagus Highway. So it is close to hiking and skiing opportunities.

The owners are nice people and very helpful in giving advice on things to do and on places to eat . They make a delicious breakfast, every morning fresh fruit salad, homebaked muffins, and a choice of eggs, omelets, pancakes, crepes and French toast. There is also homemade apple, cranberry and my favorite, maple syrup.

Our room "Indian room" was rather small but clean and lovely decorated with Indian ornaments. There was a small TV, airco and a small bathroom. It was perfect for a couple of nights.

Make sure you bring cash money, they don't accept creditcards.

Mount Washington Hotel: The grand Mount Washington Hotel

by realde14

The historic Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods is where in in 1944 the world leaders came together in order to discuss the monetary and economic environment of post WW2. The meeting resulted in the foundation of the IMF and the World Bank, otherwise known as the Bretton Woods institutions.

The hotel offers spectacular views of the White Mountain, the highest peak in New England and often snow-covered.

Our stay was fantastic, the hotel staff extremely friendly and the views from our hotel room unbeatable. The only negative point was the jacket requirement for dinner.
