A simple, but clean and comfortable motor lodge located right on the Kancamagus Highway. It's close to everything without being in the middle of everything. We've stayed there twice now and would do it again.
The rooms are simple, but are SPOTLESS.
Located in the main building are Brittany's Cafe ( open all year and a favorite breakfast spot of the locals) and the Penalty Box bar (we didn't try that. I highly reccommend the restaurant for both the food and the service.
The next business over is the Lincoln Common Man Restaurant, which is definately a 4 star dining experience.
Unique Quality: The bathrooms even have steambaths. On the 4th of July you can watch the fireworks from your balcony.

Both times we've stayed at the Kancamagus Motor Lodge -- obviously with better rates in the off-season in late April. But the rooms are clean (with good cable -- although not premium) and with steambaths in each one that turn out to be quite addictive. The property itself is quiet -- but there is a surprising amount of road noise if you have the upper floor in the main building where the small balconies look out on the highway. The prices are fair, and with the restaurant/bar on premises, I would recommend it -- and, certainly, stay there myself again.
$75.00 night for two -- however, only has two doubles or one queen -- no kings.
Unique Quality: . . . . has a pool and patio/sun area, decent standard cable (with AMC and TCM), restaurant/bar, horseshoe pit, small kiddie playground equipment, good/plentiful ice -- but the unique feature is the in-room steambath. We took one everyday -- and sometimes tried for two.

My cutie had his best meal at the Pub at the Timbermill. As for me, I favored CJ's Penalty Box at the Kancamagus Motor Lodge.
Fair prices at both places -- and they accommodate smokers. Pub at the Timbermill: definitely the bar-b-que ribs . . . smoky and fall-off-the-bone tender. At CJ's Penalty Box: the meatball hero (gigantic!) and the chocolate desserts from Brittany's Restaurant upstairs.
